We’re looking to add a Vice President, Medical Communications Strategy to our Strategy Team. The Vice President, MedCom Strategy is a senior expert for medical communications strategy (specifically promotionalmedical education), embedded within the strategy team and operating as a connector across strategy and account teams.This role leads strategic thinking for promotional medical communications, helping shape integrated solutions and content for clients in close partnership with internal Scientific/Medical, Account, Creative, and Digital teams. Externally, this individual is a trusted advisor to client stakeholders. Additionally, this role engages at a scientific level with external marketing and medical teams as well as trusted thought leaders in the therapeutic area, and is viewed as an interested, educated partner who can learn and absorb information and translate the science and advice into strategic imperatives for the client. Internally, this role helps strengthen how medical communications show up across the agency. This is both a hands-on and leadership role, as well as a business development role, responsible for advancing client work, expanding the discipline organically, and actively prospecting and contributing to new business opportunities.

What You’ll Do

This position will be accountable to the SVP Group Account Lead, MedCom Strategy. In addition, this role will:

Medical Communications Strategy & Stewardship

  • Lead and co-develop medical communications strategy with the scientific medical team across assigned clients
  • Ensure initiatives and content are grounded in brand strategy
  • Contribute to standards and best practices for promotional medical communications across the agency in partnership with scientific/ medical, account , and project management
  • Support planning, design, and execution of HCP-focused peer-to-peer initiatives, including advisory boards, including advisory board facilitation as needed
  • Shape objectives, discussion frameworks, and success measures for ad boards and P2P engagements
  • Work with scientific/medical to translate advisory insights into actionable strategy and engagement plans
  • Oversee rollout of P2P-driven tactics, which may include facilitating discussions with KOLs to inform content and strategy, and ensure insights are effectively activated
  • Champion digital-first and AI-enabled approaches to medical communications and stakeholder engagement

Client Partnership & Strategic Influence

  • Serve as a trusted strategic advisor to senior client stakeholders
  • Influence brand, engagement, and launch strategy through a medical communications lens
  • Lead annual tactical planning and support brand planning as appropriate
  • Contribute to high-level client meetings, workshops, and presentations alongside partners across scientific/medical and account teams
  • Proactively identify opportunities to strengthen existing client partnerships through excellent strategic work and collaboration

Capability Building & Team Enablement

  • Support expansion of medical communications work within existing clients by identifying where promotional med ed/P2P engagement can add value, and surface opportunities across service lines (i.e., medical affairs, speaker bureau, and congress engagement). Actively prospect and contribute to new business opportunities
  • Partner with the account and scientific/medical teams to shape medical communications approaches and scopes among current clients
  • Support the development of junior strategists and cross-functional partners through coaching, feedback, and collaboration

Industry Presence & Thought Leadership

  • Represent the agency externally as a medical communications expert as needed
  • Attend, participate in industry conferences and events
  • Contribute to thought leadership that reinforces the agency’s credibility in med comms
  • Connected to evolving trends in HCP engagement, regulation, and medical communications

What You’ll Have

  • Deep experience (10+ years) in promo medical communications strategy within pharma and biotech
  • Extensive hands-on experience (6+ years) in HCP, P2P engagement, including advisory boards
  • Strong understanding of market data, regulatory frameworks, and promotional compliance
  • Collaborative, solutions-oriented mindset with comfort navigating ambiguity and influencing across teams
  • Proven experience leading product launches and complex, multi-stakeholder programs
  • Strong executive communication skills: able to facilitate discussions and present a clear, compelling strategic story with clients and internal teams
  • Strategic, disciplined thinker with a strong point of view
  • Deeply ingrained in the HCP/P2P world and energized by it
