Job description

Job Description:
As SVP, Growth Strategy, you are dentsu X's strategic lead on new business - the person who owns the pitch from first brief to final room. You write the agency's strategic response, shape how dentsu X positions itself for each prospective client, and set the direction that every contributing team works to. You are as comfortable distilling a complex opportunity onto a single page as you are commanding a room with an inspiring, data-informed story. Fast-moving, collaborative, and creatively rigorous, you thrive in the high-stakes, high-tempo environment of competitive pitching - and you bring out the best in the teams around you.
Key Accountabilities
Lead pitch strategy
  • Write the agency's core strategic response for every major pitch - from the shaping of the initial point of view to the final narrative arc

  • Distil complex briefs and strategic thinking into a sharp, compelling pitch on a page that orients the entire team

  • Craft dentsu X's agency positioning in a way that authentically adapts to each client's category, ambitions, and challenges

  • Maintain strategic coherence and clarity of argument across all pitch materials, regardless of how many teams contribute

  • Operate with confidence and quality at speed - thriving under the fast turnaround timelines that define competitive pitching

Internal leadership
  • Brief and align department leads - across strategy, planning, activation, and measurement - ensuring every workstream ladders up to the central strategic idea

  • Be the connective tissue between disciplines: a brilliant collaborator who earns trust quickly and holds teams to a shared vision under pressure

  • Challenge and sharpen contributions from across the agency, pushing for integration and coherence rather than a collection of separate answers

  • Create clarity and momentum in ambiguous, fast-moving pitch environments where priorities and timelines shift quickly

Storytelling and presentation
  • Lead the strategic narrative in pitch presentations - owning the room with a story that is confident, inspiring, and impossible to ignore

  • Bring equal weight to data literacy and creative thinking: grounding strategy in evidence while making it feel fresh, human, and memorable

  • Command the attention of senior client stakeholders through storytelling that connects insight to ambition in a way that feels inevitable

  • Represent dentsu X's strategic ambition and voice at the highest level of new business

  • Ensure there is a red thread through the presentation across all disciplines, tying back to why dentsu X is right for a client

Professional Skills
  • 15+ years of experience in media

  • Lead a new business pitch from start to finish, being comfortable leading executives and guiding CMO level clients to solutions

  • Be able to articulate clearly and concisely the complex, as our industry has becoming increasingly technology driven

  • Proven leadership skills and ability to interact with all levels of the organization, fostering strong cross-functional teamwork and results.

  • Desire to learn new skills and link different aspects of the business.

  • Ability to think strategically, creatively, practically and commercially; someone who can see the big picture but can articulate the all-important detail.

  • Exceptional presentation skills, written and oral communication.

  • Passion to drive business forward and a team player.

  • Has participated in new business development and pitches.

  • Client-facing experience.

  • Strong managerial skills
