Summary:
The Vice President, Executive Risk is a senior technical and advisory leader responsible for the firm's Executive Risk and Management Liability placements, including Directors & Officers (D&O), Employment Practices Liability (EPL), Fiduciary Liability, Crime, and related coverages. This is a non-production role focused on technical excellence, client advisory support, carrier engagement, and practice growth.
The role involves frequent interaction with clients and prospective clients, insurance carriers, third-party intermediaries, and other external partners who support the Plexus client service delivery model. Effective internal coordination with Plexus leadership, Client Executive teams, Business Development, and other internal resources is essential to deliver high-quality Executive Risk placements and support firmwide growth. The position is eligible for production-based incentives tied to new business support and overall practice performance.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Lead the placement, servicing, and renewal strategy for complex Executive Risk, Management Liability, and related placements.
  • Develop marketing strategy, coverage analysis, and structure recommendations across the client lifecycle
  • Maintain strong relationships with carriers and intermediaries, with a clear understanding of market appetite, capabilities, and services
  • Identify and evaluate new carriers, products, and solutions that enhance Plexus's Executive Risk offerings
  • Serve as senior advisor to clients by identifying exposures, recommending risk mitigation strategies, and structuring appropriate insurance solutions
  • Provide consulting support including due diligence, coverage and cost comparisons, and limits benchmarking for prospective clients and acquisitions
  • Review contracts, policies, endorsements, and claims information to ensure accuracy, intent, and appropriate client guidance
  • Analyze loss trends and claims activity in coordination with the Claims Advocacy team and advise clients accordingly
  • Support Client Executive teams with account planning, long-term strategy, and new business pursuits
  • Advise Plexus leadership on technical standards, workflow considerations, and Executive Risk best practices
  • Maintain working knowledge of transactional insurance products relevant to venture capital and private equity environments
  • Participate in client, prospect, and carrier meetings, with limited travel as needed

Required Experience:
  • BA/BS from an accredited institution
  • 7 to 10 years of Executive Risk, Management Liability, or related underwriting or brokerage experience
  • Deep understanding of insurance principles, placement processes, and Executive Risk products
  • Demonstrated ability to advise senior executives, boards, and financial sponsors
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex issues clearly
  • Highly organized, self-directed, and able to manage multiple priorities
  • Ability to operate independently while collaborating closely with internal teams
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  • Active Property & Casualty insurance license
  • RPLU, MLIS, CPCU, or similar professional designations preferred

Compensation and Benefits:
The approximate annual salary range for this position is $140,000 - $200,000. Please note the range provided is a good faith estimate at the time of the posting.
