Vice President - Digital Assets Wealth Management Platforms Purchase, NY

Morgan Stanley Wealth Management is seeking a Vice President to report to and support the Digital Assets Product Lead, Executive Director, in defining, executing, and scaling the digital assets product strategy and roadmap across Wealth Management. This role is designed for a product- and execution-oriented candidate with practical digital asset experience, a strong foundation in traditional financial services, and the ability to translate strategy into institutional-grade product capabilities. The Vice President will partner closely with Technology, Risk, Legal/Compliance, Operations, and business stakeholders to help deliver scalable, compliant digital asset solutions in a highly regulated environment.

Department Overview

In the Wealth Management division, we help people, businesses and institutions build, preserve, and manage wealth so they can pursue their financial goals. Wealth Management (WM) Platforms manages industry-leading platforms, across all WM channels and client segments, to provide a unified digital experience, unlock growth, and deliver efficiencies for Advisors, Clients, and Institutions. WM Platforms consists of nine sub-teams including: Field Experience & Platforms, Digital Client Experience & Platforms, Workplace Platforms, Automation & Workflow Solutions, Digital Trading & Investing, UX Design & Research, Strategy & Execution. Business Control & Support, and the Chief Operating Office.

What you will do in the role
  • Product strategy and roadmap support: Support the Digital Assets Product Lead in developing and refining the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for digital asset capabilities within Wealth Management.
  • Translate strategic priorities into clear product narratives, requirements, business cases, milestones, and decision materials.
  • Help evaluate opportunities across client segments, advisor workflows, and channels, with a focus on practical product fit, regulatory feasibility, economics, and operating model impact.
  • Digital assets product and market analysis: Develop decision-ready analysis across digital asset topics, including crypto access, tokenization, stablecoins, custody and settlement models, market structure, wallets, and digital asset ecosystem participation.
  • Distinguish institutionally viable product opportunities from speculative narratives and translate market developments into practical roadmap recommendations.
  • Support internal education and stakeholder discussions by framing digital asset product concepts in a clear, balanced, and institutionally relevant manner for senior leadership and cross-functional partners.
  • Product development and execution: Own discrete workstreams from discovery through launch readiness, including scope definition, requirements, stakeholder alignment, dependency tracking, testing support, issue resolution, and post-launch optimization.
  • Partner with Technology, Architecture, Risk, Legal/Compliance, Operations, Service, and business stakeholders to define product capabilities, control requirements, operating models, and implementation plans.
  • Help ensure digital asset capabilities integrate effectively into Wealth Management platforms, advisor workflows, client experiences, custody models, reporting, supervision, service, and operations.

Skills Required

4-7 years of relevant experience in product strategy, product execution, business strategy, platform strategy, consulting, fintech, or related roles within financial services. Strong traditional finance foundation, ideally across wealth management, broker-dealer platforms, advisory, custody, asset management, banking, capital markets, or regulated financial services platforms. Applied digital asset experience through product, strategy, consulting, operating model, infrastructure, regulatory, or platform initiatives. Demonstrated ability to execute complex cross-functional initiatives in regulated or highly controlled environments. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience preparing executive-ready memos, product narratives, structured analysis, and decision materials. Strong analytical and structured problem-solving skills, with the ability to break ambiguity into clear issues, options, trade-offs, and execution paths. High attention to detail, strong organizational discipline, and ability to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously.

Additional Qualifications
  • Experience at a top-tier strategy consulting firm or in an internal strategy, product, platform, or innovation role at a major financial institution.
  • Experience supporting, launching, or scaling digital asset capabilities within wealth management, brokerage, banking, asset management, or fintech environments.
  • Experience evaluating vendors, partners, and technology providers, including commercial, operational, control, and third-party risk considerations.
  • Experience developing business cases or product roadmaps tied to measurable outcomes such as adoption, AUM, revenue, client outcomes, risk reduction, or operating efficiency.
