We're seeking a future team member for the role of Senior Vice President, Custody Product to join our Custody Client Platform team. This role is located in New York City, NY.

In this role, you'll make an impact in the following ways: 

Position Summary:

Experience and expertise in Global Custody, US market infrastructure, strategy and product management. Responsible for strategic Custody product design, planning, managing multiple strategic projects and mentoring junior staff. 

Product Strategy:

  • Strong grasp of US Custody market place and competitive landscape, able to articulate strategic vision
  • Understand business outcomes for clients and the company and how product decisions impact tradeoffs
  • Responsible for crafting product roadmap of key strategic priorities 

Product Execution:

  • Able to outline requirements for strategic developments that impact Direct Markets clients
  • Able to negotiate the implementation of current work, make the right trade-off decisions to speed implementation in a high-quality manner
  • Inform and negotiate across platforms to ensure delivery of key components to any change

Customer Insights:

  • Formulate the right business questions to be asked and how to track down data to inform decisions 
  • Design the data and AI tools needed to understand marketplace and provide client intelligence
  • Represent BNY on industry forums with our clients to understand change and draft client communications

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Direct markets lead for the Americas Custody Product team, strategy for maintenance of competitiveness and expansion of markets
  • Profit & Loss (P&L) ownership to drive improvements in market revenue
  • Ownership of US market product and services offered, including strategic change
  • Market advocacy though industry working groups, conferences and client engagement
  • Ownership of design decisions, performs product performance monitoring, track and analyze key product metrics

To be successful in this role, we're seeking the following: 

  • Bachelor's degree in product management or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience required
  • 6+ years product experience with experience creating strategic product roadmaps and working with cross-functional teams in a highly matrixed environment
  • Experience in financial industry
  • Experience building and launching product from ideation through launch and revision
  • Experience managing the product P&L, risk management and strategy
  • Experience in relationship building, negotiating, and influencing

BNY assesses market data to ensure a competitive compensation package for our employees. The base salary for this position is expected to be between $68,000 and $147,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base salary if hired will be determined on an individualized basis, including as to experience and market location, and is only part of the BNY total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, short and long-term incentive packages, and Company-sponsored benefit programs. 
This position is at-will and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, change in geographic location, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
