Job description

Real Chemistry is looking for an Associate Vice President/Vice President (AVP/VP), Client Services, Scientific Visualization to join our growing team! The AVP/VP will lead strategic client partnerships, drive business growth, and oversee the successful delivery of high-impact Scientific Visualization programs. This role combines client leadership, commercial strategy, team development, and operational oversight while serving as a trusted advisor to senior client stakeholders and a key leader within the Medical capability.

Scientific Visualization (RadScience), a specialized team within Real Chemistry's Medical capability, combines scientific expertise, creativity, and innovation to transform complex science into compelling visual stories and experiences. Our multidisciplinary team of artists, animators, designers, PhDs, and MDs develops scientific illustrations, animations, interactive experiences, congress activations, and educational solutions that help pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies communicate science with clarity and impact.

This is a hybrid role, based in any of our US offices-New York City, Boston, Chicago, San Francisco, Carmel (IN), or Lambertville (NJ)-or remotely within the US, depending on team and business needs.We are also open to remote applicants in Canada. This role requires working eastern US hours.

What you'll do: 

Client Leadership & Strategy

  • Serve as a senior strategic partner to pharmaceutical and biotechnology clients
  • Lead complex engagements across scientific visualization, medical education, congress strategy, digital experiences, and innovation initiatives
  • Anticipate client needs, identify solutions, and drive long-term account growth
  • Partner closely with Scientific Strategy, Creative, Medical, Experience Design, and Project Management teams to deliver exceptional client outcomes

Business Growth

  • Develop and execute account growth strategies across assigned clients
  • Identify opportunities to expand relationships and introduce new capabilities
  • Lead and support new business opportunities, pitches, proposals, and SOW development
  • Contribute to the continued growth and positioning of the Scientific Visualization practice

Financial Management

  • Own account performance, forecasting, profitability, and resource planning
  • Partner with finance and operations teams to manage budgets, scope changes, and revenue goals
  • Ensure delivery of profitable and sustainable client engagements

People Leadership

  • Build and scale a strong leadership bench through effective coaching, succession planning, performance management, and career development initiatives
  • Create and implement team development strategies that strengthen client service capabilities, business acumen, communication skills, and leadership competencies across all levels
  • Partner with department and practice leaders to identify organizational capability gaps and develop targeted talent and skill-building plans

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Collaborate across Real Chemistry's Medical capability and broader organization to deliver integrated client solutions
  • Champion innovative approaches, emerging technologies, and AI-enabled ways of working
  • Serve as an ambassador for the Scientific Visualization practice internally and externally

What you should have:  

  • 10+ years of experience (AVP) or 12+ years of experience (VP) within healthcare communications, medical education, scientific communications, scientific visualization, healthcare marketing, or related agency environments
  • Demonstrated success leading and growing pharmaceutical and biotechnology client relationships
  • Experience managing large accounts, complex programs, and multidisciplinary teams
  • Strong business development skills with a track record of driving organic growth and contributing to new business wins
  • Familiarity with scientific visualization, medical communications, medical affairs, congress strategy, and digital engagement programs
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, relationship-building, and leadership skills

Pay Range:

AVP: $175,000 - $190,000
VP: $190,000 - $205,000

This is the pay range the Company believes it will pay for this position at the time of this posting.  Consistent with applicable law, compensation will be determined based on job-related, non-discriminatory factors including but not limited to work experience, skills, certifications, and geographical location. The Company reserves the right to modify this pay range at any time.
