As a Veterinary Receptionist, you'll serve as the communication hub of the hospital by:
  • Welcoming clients and patients with professionalism, warmth, and compassion
  • Answering multi-line phones, scheduling appointments, and managing daily calendars
  • Checking patients in and out while ensuring accurate documentation
  • Maintaining electronic medical records with attention to detail
  • Processing invoices, payments, and client financial transactions
  • Explaining hospital services, appointment expectations, and discharge instructions
  • Assisting with prescription requests and medication pick-up coordination under veterinarian direction
  • Communicating effectively with veterinarians, technicians, and support staff to ensure efficient patient flow
  • Providing calm, empathetic support during urgent or emotionally sensitive situations
  • Helping maintain an organized, welcoming front desk and lobby environment
We're seeking someone who is:
  • Experienced in veterinary client service (not an entry-level position)

Preferred Qualifications
  • Minimum of one year of veterinary receptionist, veterinary client service, or medical front desk experience
  • Previous experience in a veterinary hospital or animal healthcare setting
  • Familiarity with veterinary medical terminology
  • Experience with veterinary software such as Cornerstone, AVImark, ezyVet, or similar platforms
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) strongly preferred
Physical Requirements

This position requires the ability to:
  • Sit, stand, and walk for extended periods throughout the workday
  • Frequently bend, stoop, kneel, and reach
  • Lift and carry up to 40 pounds independently and heavier pets with assistance
  • Safely handle dogs, cats, and other companion animals of varying sizes and temperaments
  • Work in a veterinary healthcare environment with routine exposure to animal dander, fur, saliva, cleaning chemicals, disinfectants, medications, and occasional loud noises
  • Perform repetitive computer and telephone tasks while maintaining excellent attention to detail
Schedule
  • This is a part-time position offering approximately two shifts per week.
    • Rotating 10- or 12-hour shifts
    • Schedule and Availability: 7:00 AM - 1:00 AM, Monday through Sunday
    • Flexibility to support evenings, weekends, and rotating holidays is required (employees are not scheduled every holiday but are expected to participate in holiday coverage)
Compensation
  • $18.00-$22.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications
