Job Description:
Job Summary
The Purdue University College of Veterinary Medicine (PVM) invites applications for a full-time, 12-month position as a Lecturer in the Department of Veterinary Administration beginning in Fall 2026.
The primary responsibilities of this position involve teaching in the DVM program in clinical skills and problem-based learning courses. This individual will join a team of instructors made up of veterinarians and veterinary technicians that design, coordinate, and deliver instruction to pre-clinical veterinary students in threads of courses focused on developing competencies like clinical, technical, and professional skills.
As an instructor in courses focused on clinical skill development, the successful candidate will also participate in occasional mentorship of clinical-year students. The successful candidate will assume the role of instructor-of-record and course coordinator as appropriate within the clinical skills courses.
The successful candidate will create new instructional materials including problem-based learning cases, oral examinations, instructional resources, and OSCE stations for the clinical skills courses.
Participation in PVM engagement activities such as summer camps is expected. Other teaching responsibilities may be assigned as appropriate.
Education and Experience
Applicants must have a DVM or equivalent degree, excellent communication skills, and a strong interest in teaching veterinary students. Competency in performing basic clinical techniques in small animal species or large animal species is required. Preference will be given to candidates with teaching experience and experience/comfort working with equine and small animal patients.
Applicants must have at least 2-3 years' experience.
