Job description

Title: Project Manager, Dry Utility Coordination

Type: Full time, exempt

Location: Reston VA

Reports To: Principal

Disclaimer: The following description has been designed to indicate the general nature and essential responsibilities of work performed by employees within this classification.  It is not a comprehensive inventory of all duties, responsibilities, and qualifications required.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Design and coordinate dry utilities from source to face of building.
  • Coordinate with clients and entire project team (A/E, civil) to develop plan and obtain approvals.
  • Work with in-house designer to draft and submit CAD dry utility plan drawings.
  • Submit electric and gas applications to utility providers and follow up to get work orders and designers assigned.
  • Complete studies of future projects to determine conflicts, relocations and approx. budget dry utility service provider costs.
  • Get designs signed off on by client and utility provider supervisors
  • Proactively manage dry utility installation work by developer's contractor and utility provider. Including meeting crews at job sites and running precon meeting to ensure scope is known and accurate prior to work starting.
  • This is a client-facing position that will require providing a high level of customer service to some very demanding people.

 

Qualifications:

  • Min. of 2 years proven technical dry utility design experience and/or directly with or for dry utility companies (BG&E, Pepco, Washington Gas, Dominion VA Power, NOVEC, Verizon, Comcast, etc.)
  • Basic understanding of horizontal and vertical development and construction. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively.
