What you'll be doing...
Verizon's Digital Marketing team is hiring a Search Engine Marketing Senior Manager to lead paid search from strategic planning, investment and partner management perspectives. You will help lead the recently in-housed paid search function at Verizon, partnering closely with other leaders within the digital marketing center of excellence. You should bring a fresh perspective on how the SEM operation could evolve as an in-house team, and will support the process on any changes/shifts that you feel are necessary to get the job done well. You will build relationships with external search partners, including emerging search partners and optimization technologies. We expect you to come with a strong understanding of the evolution of search and the benefits of thinking about SEO and SEM holistically.
Responsibilities include:
  • Leading and managing SEM functions for multiple units within Verizon.
  • Campaign development, bid strategy, optimization and channel management.
  • Scaling teams to support the SEM operation.
  • Making recommendations and driving decision making with respect to any changes to the existing tech stacks.
  • Building and managing relationships with all external search partners.
  • Overseeing the execution and resources associated with SEM campaigns.
  • Knowledge of AI and large language models to develop and deploy an AI strategy that connects consumers to commerce outcomes.

What we're looking for...
You'll need to have:
  • Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant experience required, demonstrated through one or a combination of work and/or military experience, or specialized training.
  • Marketer/agency/consultative services experience in SEM.
  • Experience leading a technically advanced team of search marketing professionals.
  • Experience with and knowledge of primary buying platforms and formats (Google Ads, Search Ads 360, Skai, Yahoo! / Bing, PLAs, Shopping engines).

Even better if you have one or more of the following:
  • Ability to manage projects across multiple stakeholders.
  • Exceptional communication skills.
  • Experience in search analysis and reporting.
  • Data visualization experience.
  • Fluency in data-driven targeting and reach strategy.
  • Knowledge of advertising channels across TV, audio, OOH, Display (desktop, mobile), Digital Video, Social Media, various buying methodologies (CPM, CPC, CPA), etc.
  • Exposure to online report builders such as Adobe/Omniture and ability to build and pull reports.
  • Open to explore new methods of search strategy as consumer behavior adapts.

  • The Manager of Digital Marketing leads, plans, develops, and executes digital marketing campaigns, including online advertising, website strategy/design, social media, mobile deliverables, and new media deliverables.
  • Digital Marketing Strategy - Develops digital marketing strategies and plans across various channels and platforms. Provides insights and recommendations for pursuing various digital marketing channels.
  • Digital Marketing Analysis - Evaluates and analyzes the performance of various digital marketing campaigns. Leads the research and analysis on various features of digital marketing campaigns to advance the brand's digital presence.
  • Collaboration - Works across the organization to champion and ensure a consistent brand experience across all platforms. Collaborates and coordinates with internal and external partners to execute digital branding strategy.

In this hybrid role, you'll have a defined work location that includes working from home and a minimum of three days per week in the office, which will be set by your manager. Employees are responsible for maintaining compliance with hybrid work policies.

The salary will vary depending on your location and confirmed job-related skills and experience. This is an incentive based position with the potential to earn more. For part-time roles, your compensation will be adjusted to reflect your hours.
The annual salary range for the location(s) listed on this job requisition based on a full-time schedule is: $115,500.00 - $201,000.00.
