Are you the person who can keep production moving when parts are missing, vendors are late, or priorities suddenly change?

We are seeking a Production Expeditor to help keep materials, components, work orders, and information flowing through a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This is a hands-on operations position for someone who is organized, proactive, comfortable working on the production floor, and good at getting answers.

What You’ll Do

  • Review open work orders and production priorities to identify shortages and potential delays.
  • Work closely with Planning, Purchasing, Warehouse, Manufacturing, and Shipping.
  • Track components being processed by outside vendors, including machining, painting, coatings, and heat treatment.
  • Follow up on late materials and communicate expected completion and delivery dates.
  • Help move and stage materials between work centers as needed.
  • Identify missing parts, paperwork, drawings, or other issues preventing production from moving forward.
  • Track routers and work orders through the manufacturing process.
  • Identify jobs that are ready for production so available labor can be used efficiently.
  • Escalate shortages, vendor delays, documentation problems, and other production risks.
  • Assist with cycle counts, inventory verification, and discrepancy research.
  • Help establish material priorities based on the actual production schedule.
  • Participate in daily production and manufacturing-readiness meetings.
  • Support continuous improvement of material flow, inventory accuracy, and production execution.

We’re Looking for Someone Who

  • Has experience in manufacturing, production control, materials, inventory, purchasing, planning, or expediting.
  • Understands how work orders, routers, inventory, and production schedules work together.
  • Is comfortable communicating with production supervisors, buyers, planners, warehouse personnel, and outside vendors.
  • Can manage several priorities at the same time without losing track of details.
  • Is willing to get out from behind the desk and work directly with the production floor.
  • Has strong follow-up, organization, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Can recognize a production problem before it becomes a production shutdown.
  • Has experience with ERP/MRP or manufacturing management systems; preferred.
