Description

The EHS Specialist supports the overall delivery of Environmental, Health, and Safety at their assigned Liberty Diversified International location. This position is accountable for executing EHS initiatives to deliver on EHS responsibilities at their manufacturing location. This role will partner with plant leadership and the broader LDI EHS team to support deployment of EHS initiatives, administer site incident / injury management, coordinate emergency response, track and document KPIs at the site level, and ensure the organization’s products meet required standards while minimizing risk.

This full-time position reports to the EHS Manager and is located at Liberty Packaging manufacturing plant in Golden Valley, MN

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintains EHS programs to be compliant with regulations and company standards.
  • Performs EHS training for new hires and recurrent training as required.
  • Maintains a production floor presence and supports people leaders’ safety performance.
  • Coordinates STOP Behavioral Safety Program by ensuring wide participation.
  • Ensures incidents and injuries are investigated according to expectations.
  • Collaborates with Shared Services EHS Director and EHS peers across all business units for best practices on policies and training.
  • Utilizes Velocity EHS management system to organize and complete EHS action items.
  • Conducting emergency response team drills for incidents such as injured employee, severe weather, lockdown, and fire drills. 
  • Coordinates the implementation of sustainability projects and programs within the designated location(s).
  • Communicates with EHS team to utilize and coordinate all EHS electronic platforms.
  • Other duties, as assigned.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

  • 2+ years of EHS program management experience or equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of environmental, health and safety laws and regulations.
  • Effectively read, write, and communicate in the English language, including strong presentation skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft office software including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to work independently with moderate supervision.
  • Strong organizational skills particularly in managing multiple tasks and prioritization.
  • Attention to detail and the capability to analyze data and draw conclusions.

PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

  • Strong experience in building relationships, training, and coaching.
  • Has or is working towards a professional EHS certification.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to actively participate in team development.
  • Occasional travel.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

The starting base salary range for this position is $76,722 -  $85,046 per year. The compensation posted is the anticipated pay for the position at the time of the posting. We may pay above or below posted amount based on several factors, including, but not limited to education and/or certifications, skills, experience, or work location. Some positions may qualify for additional compensation in the form of bonuses or deferred compensation options.
