Job description

Position Summary: The Vehicle Maintenance Technician is well versed in all aspects of vehicle maintenance and repair. This candidate will work on a wide variety of vehicles ranging from vans, trucks, heavy equipment, and buses.
Pay Rate: The rate of pay listed on job boards are auto-generated numbers. Kiawah Island Golf Resort's actual rate of pay will be determined during the hiring process.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum Education - High School diploma required.
  • Minimum Experience - Five to six years technical experience required.
  • Must work both independently and in a team environment.
  • Valid Driver's License required.
  • CDL with air brake endorsement preferred.
  • MVAC certification preferred.
  • Must be able to read, comprehend, and follow manufacturer technical procedures.
  • Good to Excellent communication skills in English both verbal and written

Expectations & Responsibilities:
  • Basic preventative maintenance (oil changes, transmission service, fuel & air filters)
  • Washing and waxing vehicles
  • Brake and tire installation and repair
  • Assisting in maintaining inventory of filters, tires, parts and fluids.
  • Ability to learn computer systems associated with scanning/troubleshooting vehicle issues.
  • Ability to safely operate a vehicle lift.
  • Perform general safety checks and visual inspections of vehicles on a regular basis.
  • General mechanical knowledge.
  • Knowledge of diesel engines.
  • Upholds the core values and policies & procedures of the resort.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Essential Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 60lbs across short-medium distance.
  • Must have dexterity with hands/fingers is required.
  • Must be able to stand for the majority of shift while reaching, bending and stooping as needed.
  • Must be able to work in all-weather conditions including extreme heat on occasion.
  • Must be able to work on site due to daily needs of the job requirements.
