Job description

The Vehicle Acquisition Coordinator is responsible for managing the sourcing, purchasing, and intake of vehicles to support dealership or fleet operations. This role ensures that all acquisitions align with company standards, budget requirements, and compliance regulations. The coordinator works closely with sales, finance, and inventory teams to maintain accurate records, negotiate purchases, and streamline the acquisition process.
Essential Functions:
  • Manage the full acquisition lifecycle- from first outreach to final purchase.
  • Identify and engage potential customers interested in selling or trading vehicles.
  • Track, engage and initiate conversations with private-party sellers across various marketplaces and multiple communications channels.
  • Set daily appointments with customers to review offers on purchasing their vehicles.
  • Conduct vehicle appraisals to determine fair market value.
  • Maintain organized communications logs and updates for dealership leadership; maintain consistent and professional follow up.
  • Create and manage outreach campaigns to promote buy-back and upgrade opportunities.
  • Work closely with Acquisitions Manager and leadership team to establish monthly goals and reach forecast targets.
  • Foster strong relationships with prospective customers to enhance their service experience.
  • Utilize Tekion CRM System for tracking service, activities and managing customer relationships.
  • Perform other duties as reasonably assigned.

Requirements
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, communications, marketing, or equivalent field preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in vehicle sourcing, appraisal or acquisition required.
  • Strong negotiation skills, ability to initiate conversations with prospects.
  • Valid driver's license with clean driving record required.
  • Proven experience in private-party acquisition and experience is highly preferred.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
