Toyota of Scranton and Toyota of Stroudsburg are seeking an experienced, motivated Vehicle Acquisition Manager to launch and lead a dedicated Vehicle Acquisition Department. This is a unique leadership opportunity to build a department from the ground up. The Acquisition Department operates independently from the Sales and Service Lane Sales teams, with one primary objective: acquiring high-quality pre-owned inventory through private-party purchases and customer acquisition opportunities. Position Overview

As the Vehicle Acquisition Manager, you will develop and execute the dealership's vehicle acquisition strategy while recruiting, training, and leading a high-performing acquisition team. Working directly with the Director of Sales and dealership leadership, you will establish the processes, accountability, and culture necessary to create a consistent pipeline of quality pre-owned inventory while reducing reliance on auction purchases.

What You'll Do

  • Recruit, hire, train, and mentor Vehicle Acquisition Specialists.
  • Build a culture focused on accountability, professionalism, and performance.
  • Conduct daily team meetings and ongoing coaching sessions.
  • Establish performance expectations and measurable goals.
  • Develop processes that create consistency and long-term success.
  • Oversee the acquisition process from initial customer contact through vehicle purchase.
  • Ensure every acquisition opportunity receives immediate follow-up.
  • Monitor appraisal consistency and purchasing discipline.
  • Manage acquisition CRM activity, reporting, and performance metrics.
  • Coordinate a seamless transition from acquisition to reconditioning.

Qualifications

  • Automotive sales or used vehicle management experience.
  • Leadership or management experience preferred.
  • Strong appraisal and inventory management knowledge.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
  • Experience using CRM and inventory management systems.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, leadership, and coaching skills.

Preferred Experience

Used Car Manager, Inventory Manager, Acquisition Manager, Sales Manager, or Appraisal Specialist. Experience with VETTX, vAuto, Kelley Blue Book Instant Cash Offer, or CarFax Sell My Car is a plus.
