???? $115,000–$175,000++ earning potential (Base + Commission)
???? Full-Time | In-Person

What you will do:
Lead and manage the dealership’s vehicle acquisition strategy by overseeing buyers, optimizing processes, and driving consistent volume from private-party and trade-in sources.

Great fit for:
Used car managers - BDC Managers - Desk managers - Senior buyers - Sales leaders who love numbers, negotiations, and growing inventory

About the Role

We are looking for a results-driven Vehicle Acquisition Manager to own and grow our used vehicle acquisition efforts from private sellers and trade-in opportunities.

In this role, you will oversee a team of vehicle buyers/BDCs, manage acquisition KPIs, partner closely with used car leadership, and ensure the dealership is consistently sourcing the right vehicles at the right prices. You will work inside modern acquisition software, refine call and negotiation processes, and help create a predictable pipeline of retail-ready inventory from online marketplaces and in-store traffic.

If you have experience managing used inventory, appraising vehicles, leading a sales or BDC team, or driving vehicle acquisition initiatives, you will likely excel in this role.

What You’ll Do
  • Use the VETTX acquisition platform and other tools to monitor, manage, and optimize daily acquisition activity across online marketplaces and inbound leads

  • Lead, coach, and support a team of buyers/BDC reps who are contacting private sellers, appraising vehicles, and negotiating purchase opportunities

  • Set and track daily, weekly, and monthly acquisition goals for units, appointments, show rates, and buys

  • Review vehicle leads, verify key details (VIN, mileage, condition, ownership history, service records), and approve or adjust offers

  • Partner with used car and sales management to establish ACV guidelines, target buy ranges, and inventory mix strategy

  • Monitor market conditions and pricing trends to ensure competitive acquisition offers and healthy front/back-end profit

  • Improve scripts, objection handling, and negotiation tactics to increase close rates with private sellers

  • Help manage appraisal processes for trade-ins and off-street purchases to ensure speed, accuracy, and consistency

  • Report on performance, pipeline, and key metrics to dealership leadership, and recommend adjustments to hit inventory and profit targets

What We’re Looking For
  • Experience in used car management, vehicle acquisition, appraisal, or leading a high-performing automotive sales/BDC team

  • Strong understanding of ACV, recon, front/back gross, and used inventory profitability

  • Proven ability to lead people, set expectations, and hold a team accountable to activity and results

  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with confidence speaking to both customers and internal stakeholders

  • Comfortable working in modern software platforms, managing dashboards, and interpreting data

  • Highly organized, self-motivated, and driven to hit and exceed targets in a fast-paced dealership environment

  • Private-party acquisition and online marketplace experience is a strong plus

Compensation & Benefits
  • $115,000–$175,000++ earning potential (Base + Commission)

  • Uncapped commission structure tied to units acquired and overall performance

  • Paid training

  • Health, Dental, and Vision Insurance

  • 401(k)

  • Paid time off

  • Opportunities for advancement into multi-store or group-level acquisition leadership

If you enjoy leading teams, building processes, and driving acquisition results—and want to help grow a strong used inventory pipeline from both private sellers and trade-ins—apply today to join our growing vehicle acquisition leadership team.
