What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a VDC Modeler, and why are they important?

To thrive as a VDC Modeler, you need strong proficiency in building information modeling (BIM), construction documentation, and a background in architecture, engineering, or construction, often supported by relevant degrees or certifications. Expertise with software like Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD, and BIM 360 is typically required, as well as familiarity with industry standards and workflows. Attention to detail, problem-solving, and effective communication are crucial soft skills for collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and ensuring accurate project deliverables.
