Job Title: Sales Associate

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:

  • Prepare proposals/quotes including product (valve) sizing, selection and pricing to assist Outside Sales in selling Control Valves & Regulator products and services.
  • Interact with customers on a day-to-day basis providing technical, commercial and general sales support.
  • Evaluate RFQ’s for testing, documentation and technical content to ensure proposed solutions meet customer requirements.
  • Evaluate customer requirements and identify opportunities for optimizing margin and expanding scope of products/services supplied.
  • Manage workload and engage available internal and external resources as required to meet customer deadlines.
  • Manage change of customer requirements to quotations and active orders reducing non-conformance while driving customer satisfaction.
  • Proactively follow up with customers on quotations achieving a high hit rate of conversion to orders and ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Participate in customer meetings as required to ensure clear communication of customer requirements.
  • Work with Sales Assistant in post award activities to ensure customer expectations are exceeded and drive customer satisfaction.
  • Develop and maintain a high level of technical proficiency with products represented.
  • Develop and maintain a high level of proficiency with internal business system and principal supplied sizing tools.
  • Develop and maintain awareness of all products and services provided by Puffer-Sweiven to identify opportunities for expanding scope of supply.
  • Assist Outside Sales in achieving the strategic goals of assigned accounts.
  • Evaluate and suggest improvements to team processes and tools that will improve efficiency and increase customer dependency.
  • Performs other duties and required.

 QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Knowledge:

  • BS/BA degree preferred or combination of applicable education and experience.
  • Advanced technical knowledge/understanding of Control Valves & Regulators.

Experience/Skills:

  • 3-5 years as an inside sales representative or equivalent in a technical sales environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • High level of PC proficiency including MS Office, principal supplied software, internal business system and internet.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate and coordinate with a cross section of other employees, principals, and customers.
  • Strong customer service skills including the ability to develop rapport and trust with customers and other employees.
  • Excellent problem solving skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
  • Strong time management skills including ability to multi-task.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail.
  • High ethical standards in dealing with customers and principals.
  • Good self-management skills to include dependability, initiative, innovation, professionalism and organization skills.
