Job description

Millennium Power Services is seeking a skilled and experienced Valve Repair Field Supervisor to join our team in Prince George, VA. In this role, you will be responsible for supervising Valve Technicians, installation, maintenance, and repair of various types of valves used in industrial processes. The ideal candidate should have leadership experience, a strong mechanical aptitude, exceptional troubleshooting skills, and a keen attention to detail. This role requires the ability to supervise and guide a team of Valve Technicians to ensure the efficient and reliable operation of valves within a variety of industries. This role requires the ability to travel approximately 50-70% of the time.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Valve Installation and Maintenance: Install, inspect, and maintain a variety of valves, including control valves, safety valves, gate valves, globe valves, and ball valves. Perform routine maintenance tasks to ensure the optimal functioning of valves and associated equipment. Diagnose and troubleshoot valve-related issues, implementing corrective measures as needed.
  • Testing and Calibration: Conduct testing and calibration of valves to ensure they meet industry standards and specifications. Use precision tools and instruments to measure, adjust, and document valve performance. Implement preventive measures to extend the lifespan and reliability of valves.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of valve installations, repairs, and maintenance activities. Generate reports detailing findings, recommendations, and actions taken during inspections and repairs.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and other team members to plan and execute valve-related projects. Communicate effectively with clients to understand their specific valve requirements and provide technical support as needed.
  • Safety and Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols and industry regulations when working on valves. Ensure that all valve-related activities comply with relevant standards and guidelines.
  • Flexibility: Ability to work flexible shifts and adapt to changing work schedules.
  • Supervision: Able to supervise and lead other employees and enforce company policies

Qualifications and Skills:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical education or certification in valve technology is a plus.
  • Proven experience working on valves, and actuators. 5+ years strongly preferred.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Familiarity with different types of valves and their applications.
  • Experience working in the field and in a shop environment.
  • Previous experience running jobs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment.
  • Comfortable working in confined spaces and at heights.
  • Willingness to work in varying weather conditions.
