Job description

Valve Technician

We are seeking a detail-oriented Valve Technician responsible for the assembly, calibration, testing, and troubleshooting of industrial valves, actuators, and control systems. This role uses mechanical expertise, digital tools, and quality standards to ensure products meet both customer and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate combines hands-on technical skills with strong safety awareness and the ability to work in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

Valve Technician Key Responsibilities

  • Assemble, calibrate, test, and troubleshoot industrial control valves, regulators, and automated valve systems in accordance with engineering specifications and customer requirements
  • Interpret technical documentation, including drawings, specifications, P&IDs, and work instructions
  • Utilize digital tools (ERP/MRP systems, email, calibration software, and PDFs) to document work, track inventory, and communicate effectively
  • Interface with smart instrumentation using diagnostic and calibration software (e.g., HART communicators or similar technologies)
  • Perform functional testing and validation to ensure compliance with quality standards and performance requirements
  • Maintain accurate inventory control by properly tracking, issuing, and returning parts and components within company systems
  • Follow all safety policies, OSHA standards, and company procedures to maintain a safe and clean work environment (5S practices preferred)
  • Safely operate material handling equipment, including forklifts, hoists, and pallet jacks
  • Prepare completed assemblies for shipment using proper packaging and palletizing methods
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and support lean manufacturing principles
  • Cross-train and support team members as needed to meet production goals

Valve Technician Qualifications & Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training or certification (mechanical, industrial, or instrumentation) preferred
  • 1–3+ years of experience in mechanical assembly, valve service, instrumentation, or related industrial field
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with proficiency

Valve Technician Compensation:

Base Wage Range: $30.00-$45.00 /hr. Prior work or industry experience as well as job-related education and unique skills will be taken into consideration when setting the wage rate.

Other Variable Compensation: Eligible for an annual profit share award based on company performance.
