Description:Job Summary

The Valve and Actuation Specialist is a highly technical engineering role responsible for the design, selection, and application of valve and actuation systems. This role focuses on engineering support, technical expertise, and education to ensure that ECI delivers best-in-class solutions.

The specialist partners closely with inside and outside sales teams, providing guidance on sizing, selection, troubleshooting, and industry best practices while ensuring solutions meet application requirements. A critical part of this role is educating and mentoring the inside sales team to enhance their technical capabilities and customer support effectiveness.

Key Result Areas (KRAs)KRA #1: Technical Expertise and Engineering Support – 30%

(Ensuring accurate sizing, selection, and application of valve and actuation technologies)

Valve and Actuation Design & Selection
  • Serve as ECI’s subject matter expert on valve and actuation technologies
  • Utilize and train others on manufacturer sizing and selection tools
  • Conduct engineering reviews to identify performance, safety, or reliability issues
Technical Documentation & Compliance
  • Provide CAD drawings, wiring diagrams, shutoff calculations, CMTRs, and material verifications
  • Ensure designs meet industry standards and regulatory requirements
Problem Solving & Support
  • Assist the sales team with technical inquiries, troubleshooting, and recommendations
  • Evaluate customer application requirements and recommend optimal solutions

Requirements:
  • At least one to three years of hands-on experience in inside sales
  • Familiarity with a variety of the field’s concepts, practices, and procedures.
  • Knowledge of product lines; particularly Masoneilan and Rexa
  • Experience with ERP’s, CRM’s or related systems such as sales software packages.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Microsoft Project.
  • Highly driven and competitive to work in a fast-paced, Metrics-driven and performance-based environment
  • Ability to learn ECI products and services; mechanical aptitude or technical aptitude a plus

Educational/Professional Certification:

  • Associates or bachelor’s degree or equivalent and two to five years of relative experience
