Healdsburg Inn is seeking additional housekeeping staff. The schedule will vary depending on occupancy, so open availability is desirable.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, cleaning rooms, yard areas, parking, and office areas, as well as washing / folding clothes, cabinets, rooms, and supply areas. The employee occasionally has to lift and move or up to 30 pounds.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Greets guests of the inn with eye contact, a sincere smile, and a personal greeting such as "Good morning sir/ma'am"
  • Cleans guest rooms, lobby, corridors, stairways, garage, trash, deck and patio areas.
  • Replaces guest supplies such as drinking glasses and writing supplies in each room.
  • Removes soiled bath linens and replaces them with fresh linens.
  • Makes up beds with clean linens.
  • Sweeps, scrubs, waxes and polishes floors as directed.
  • When cleaning an occupied room and guest is present, asks if there is anything else they need before leaving.
  • Empties and cleans wastebaskets, transports trash and waste to the disposal area. Replaces bathroom supplies and interior light bulbs.
  • Brings any substandard conditions, including potential safety hazards to the attention of the Manager or Assistant Manager.
  • Does not open any doors for guests without verifying first with the Front Desk.
  • Turns in all lost and found articles to the Front Office.
  • Performs all duties in a quiet and orderly manner, bearing in mind at all times the sleep, comfort and satisfaction of all guests.
  • Locks all doors and windows when leaving a room.
  • Cleans all rooms thoroughly with a minimum of disturbance to guest belongings. Does not watch television while cleaning.
  • Always leaves guest room door open while cleaning and locks immediately upon departure.
  • Uses equipment and materials in a safe and acceptable manner, follows established safety procedures, uses appropriate safeguards, and observes common sense rules of safety in all on-the-job activities.
  • Conducts self in a manner reflecting credit on Four Sisters Inns and encourages others to do the same.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
  • Six months related experience and/or training is preferred but not required.

LANGUAGE SKILLS
  • Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers. Ability to speak and comprehend simple sentences.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
  • Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.

REASONING ABILITY
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
  • Must possess exceptional interpersonal and guest service skills.
