DESCRIPTION
  • Execute validation and verification testing on body system components and subsystems. Develop test methods, acceptance criteria, and test environments.
  • Identify appropriate test locations, equipment, and instrumentation. Coordinate prototype vehicles, test parts, fixtures, and testing schedules.
  • Perform root cause analysis on test failures and implement corrective actions. Work closely with Design, Manufacturing, and Quality teams to resolve issues.
  • Document test results in detailed engineering reports.
  • Maintain issue traceability using JIRA or equivalent tracking systems.
  • Ensure proper instrumentation and data acquisition throughout testing.
  • Present test results during engineering reviews and project meetings.
  • Manage test property updates, retrofits, and milestone deliverables.

Support continuous improvement of validation processes and testing methodologies.
REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related engineering discipline.
  • 3+ years of automotive validation/testing experience. Strong knowledge of automotive body systems, closures, and interior systems.
  • Experience performing component and subsystem validation testing.
  • Knowledge of automotive testing standards and validation methodologies.
  • Experience with: Door KLT, Door SAG, Overload Durability, Oil Canning, Floor Pan Deflection, Tie Down Strength Testing, Life Cycle Testing
  • Understanding of FMVSS regulations (208, 207, 210, 216, 225).
  • Ability to perform root cause analysis and corrective action investigations.
  • Experience creating technical reports and documenting validation results.
  • Familiarity with prototype vehicle testing and test planning.
  • Understanding of instrumentation and data acquisition systems.
  • English B2-C1
  • German A2 (desirable)
  • 2.5 years temporary contract in Novi, Michigan
