Reports To: Ownership Group


FLSA Status: Exempt


SUMMARY: To assist in the daily operations, Human Resources, and as needed by the Ownership Group.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support the leadership team and Ownership Group
  • Find and order asphalt, rentals, and dump sites for dispatch
  • Relay asphalt plant, rental, and dump site information to foremen
  • Help with on the-spot needs for employees in the field
  • Assist with employee's issues
  • Post job and hire new employees
  • Onboarding, MVR, and drug screening of new employees
  • Manage new hire orientation, training, and open enrollment process
  • Assist with training and safety programs
  • Compensation research, questions, and adjustments
  • Research and implement benefits program
  • Handle HR matters from policy to payroll and benefits
  • Maintain employee files and file compliance
  • All other task, duties and responsibilities assigned by supervisor and ownership group.
  • Manage equipment inventory

QUALIFICATIONS:


To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • Education and Experience - Bachelor's Degree (preferred) or experience to compensate. Two years of Human Resources experience, two years of management experience preferred.
  • Language Skills - Ability to interact clearly and effectively, in both written and oral communication, with supervisor, staff, vendors,
  • Mathematical Skills - Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical
  • Computer Skills - To perform this job successfully, an individual should be proficient in personal computer skills including electronic mail, record keeping, routine database activity, word processing, spreadsheet, etc. This role requires minimal knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google Drive. Experience with HR software/apps/websites a plus.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

While performing the duties of this job, the individual must be able to remain in a stationary position for 90 percent of the time while operating their computer and performing office work. The individual needs to occasionally move about inside the office. The individual will constantly operate a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, fax machine, and computer printer/scanner. They must be able to exchange accurate information with customers and others in the office while interacting. The employee must occasionally move up to 25 pounds.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is occasionally exposed to smells and sounds from the paving and hauling industries. The individual is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate. The individual frequently works in a controlled climate.
