Journeyman Electrician — Dallas VA Medical Center Allmed Staffing | Dallas, TX | $40.00/hour

Allmed Staffing is hiring 10 Journeyman Electricians to support a facilities maintenance contract at the Dallas VA Medical Center. If you're a licensed electrician comfortable working on critical hospital infrastructure and want steady, well-paid work on a defined assignment with a government client, we want to hear from you.

About Allmed Staffing Allmed Staffing places skilled tradespeople into government and healthcare facility contracts across Texas. We handle the paperwork and credentialing so our tradespeople can focus on the work — and we pay competitively because we know retention starts with respect for the trade.

About the Role You'll maintain and repair a wide range of electrical systems throughout an active hospital — motors, HVAC components, alarms, medical and laboratory equipment, lighting, and major utility infrastructure including switchgear, transformers, and emergency power systems. You'll work with minimal supervision, may oversee helpers, and will need to understand the hazards of working with voltages up to 4,160 volts AC.

What You'll Do

  • Troubleshoot electrical issues using diagnostic instruments
  • Install and modify circuits and conduits
  • Perform preventive maintenance on motors and control equipment
  • Maintain switchgear, transformers, and emergency power systems
  • Ensure all work complies with the National Electrical Code and VA safety standards
  • Report daily on tasks completed, parts used, and items needing follow-up

Required Qualifications

  • Active Texas Electrician license
  • OSHA certification
  • Experience working safely with voltages up to 4,160 volts AC
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and diagrams
  • Physical ability to perform heavy lifting and work in cramped spaces, at heights, and in both indoor and outdoor environments
  • Ability to pass a background investigation (required for VA facility access)

Schedule & Pay

  • $40.00/hour
  • Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM (no weekends or federal holidays)
  • On-site at the Dallas VA Medical Center, 4500 S. Lancaster Rd, Dallas, TX 75216
