ABOUT THE ROLE This position is responsible for coordinating and administering the quality assurance (QA) and quality control (QC) activities, relevant compliance reviews and accreditation/certification processes, in accordance with the policy goals and objectives. The position supports development and implementation of Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) programs across the Branch. WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING Supports the Program Manager in establishing and maintaining a QA and QC framework in accordance with the Region and Branch's objectives and policies.

Responsible for regulatory oversight, review, and tracking of all regulatory and compliance certifications/accreditations. Coordinates relevant accreditation and certification reviews, including researching requirements, developing work plans to address identified improvements, monitoring completion, and maintaining and ensuring integration of accreditation and certification standards into the Division's strategic priorities Participates in the development of relevant QA and QC objectives that are consistent with the organization's mission statement and ensures that the services provided are in accordance with the standards of the relevant Ministries and the Department. Supports management and staff in the implementation of QA and QC, CQI, risk, and utilization management initiatives, through coaching, facilitation and other forms of consultation, under the direction of the Program Manager.

Works to develop, monitor, maintain and evaluate relevant programs, taking action, as appropriate. Supports staff development and promotes the expansion of in-house expertise through the development and implementation of an ongoing education program. Maintains and analyzes relevant statistics to identify trends; conducts utilization reviews, develops and monitors quality and risk indicators, and conducts audits and program reviews.

Supports QA and QC activities to monitor program effectiveness; provides supports to the CQI activities within the Branch/Business Unit. Participates in the development and maintenance of relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and templates and makes recommendations to the Program Manager. Participates in the development of plans for the Branch; provides research, statistical information and policy options to management staff to assist in the development of goals and objectives Prepares, develops and maintains accurate reports through analyses and summarizing of data and information from multiple systems.

Coordinates collection of indicator data and trends, participates in benchmarking, compiles data for management in preparation of KPI's, analyzes results to identify trends and variances. Prepares and analyzes regular and ad hoc reports for review by management and department stakeholders. Liaises with internal and external stakeholders, including other levels of government, community agencies, associations and committees, the public, and other stakeholders.

Responds to routine inquiries or requests for information from external stakeholders. Manages information in accordance with legislation and corporate standards. Performs other duties as assigned in accordance with Branch and Departmental objectives.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR Successful completion of a University Degree in Health Sciences, Policy, Business Administration or a related program or approved equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum three (3) years relevant experience in a health services field including experience in quality assurance and control, research, business planning and policy writing. Experience with quality management and/or program design, implementation and evaluation and policy development.

Satisfactory Police Vulnerable Sector Checks (PVSC). Demonstrated ability in York Region corporate core competencies. Demonstrated knowledge of relevant Legislation, Standards, Acts and Regulations.

Knowledge of relevant certification process and programs. Knowledge of concepts and principals of QA, QC and CQI including quality assurance and quality control, quality and risk indicators. Strong project management, presentation, report writing, analysis and research skills.

Strong ability to develop relationships and work in welcoming and inclusive environment, where diversity is celebrated and where everyone can develop to their full potential. Ability to work independently and with teams and with ability to manage competing priorities. Advanced proficiency in virtual platforms and Microsoft Office suite including the use of virtual platforms for conducting meetings and/or presentations.

Ability to travel to off site locations as required. Ability to work outside regular business hours, as required.
