As a Junior Field Mechanic, you will work alongside and under the direct supervision of a qualified, experienced A&P Mechanic for up to 1-year apprenticeship period, gaining hands-on field experience on MD369 D and FF helicopters. • Help correct discrepancies reported by the pilot, working under the supervision of your assigned A&P Mechanic.
  • Assist in maintaining correct and legible log pages/books and component permanent record card entries; all work signed off by the supervising mechanic.
  • Support the completion of reports in a concise, legible, and timely manner.
  • Participate in daily aircraft inspections, including preflight and postflight procedures.
  • Assist with cleaning the helicopter each day, including wiping clean all excess grease and sweeping out the cabin.
  • Help protect the aircraft on the ground.
  • Assist the pilot in securing the landing area by keeping unauthorized personnel away.
  • Learn to test fuel truck fuel each day and assist with fueling the aircraft as directed.
  • Operate motor vehicles in a safe and professional manner.
  • Study and build working knowledge of the Winco Operations Manual, Winco Environmental Health and Safety Manual, FARs, FAA Regulations, OSHA Standards Rotorcraft Flight Manual, Manufacturer’s Maintenance Manuals and Bulletins, Airworthiness Directives, and other applicable references.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

  • Recent graduate of an FAA-approved Aviation Maintenance Technician (A&P) school
  • FAA Airframe and Power Plant (A&P) certificate obtained or in process of being issued
  • Pass FAA/DOT drug test (pre-hire and randoms)
  • Legal US work status
  • Current US driver’s license
  • Ability to pass a DOT Physical
  • Ability to lift and/or carry up to 50 lbs and climb ladders
  • Willingness and ability to work days, nights, weekends, and in remote locations on a 3-weeks on, 3-weeks off basis
  • Strong eagerness to learn and grow in a hands-on, field-based environment
  • Positive attitude, personal accountability, and a commitment to safety.

  • Paid minimum of 40 hours per week, even off shift, with an additional 20 hours overtime per week guaranteed while on shift
  • Structured up to 1-year mentorship program with a clear path to independent Field Mechanic status
  • 401k with up to 4.5% company matching
