Job description

Position Summary
The Utility Engagement Project Manager is responsible for managing projectlevel engagement with electric utilities to support timely, reliable power delivery for development projects. This role serves as a daytoday utility interface for assigned projects, coordinating service requests, studies, agreements, and internal stakeholders to ensure alignment between utility commitments and project schedules.

The position works closely with Utility Engagement leadership, Development, Utility Delivery, Energy, Legal, and Project Controls teams to execute utility engagement activities from early due diligence through power delivery readiness

Key Responsibilities

Utility & Stakeholder Coordination

  • Serve as the primary projectlevel point of contact with electric utilities, transmission owners, and related stakeholders for assigned projects.
  • Coordinate and participate in recurring utility meetings, technical discussions, and status reviews.
  • Support utility relationship management under the direction of Utility Engagement leadership

ProjectLevel Power Planning

  • Support assessment of transmission availability, substation capacity, and utility delivery timing for development projects.
  • Track utility study progress, queue status, and power delivery milestones.
  • Communicate utility timelines, constraints, and risks to internal project teams.

Commercial & Agreement Support

  • Support execution of utility agreements including ESAs, FEAs, interim agreements, and related documents.
  • Coordinate internally with Legal, Energy, Treasury, and Finance teams to support approvals and execution.
  • Track agreement obligations, security requirements, and key contractual milestones at the project level.
  • Perform analysis of commercial agreements and document into ppt / excel as needed

CrossFunctional Project Coordination

  • Act as the Utility Engagement representative within project teams alongside Utility Delivery, Development, and Technical Services.
  • Ensure utility assumptions and commitments are aligned with construction sequencing and delivery schedules.
  • Support preparation of executive summaries, internal readouts, and decision materials related to utility engagement

Data, Reporting & Process Compliance

  • Maintain accurate projectlevel utility data in internal systems and dashboards.
  • Support adherence to internal utility engagement and power delivery processes.
  • Identify risks or misalignments and escalate as appropriate to Utility Engagement leadership.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, energy, business, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Foundational understanding of the electric utility industry, including:
    • Transmission and distribution systems
    • Utility planning and service request processes
    • RTOs/ISOs and regulatory environments
  • Strong project coordination, organization, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple active projects simultaneously.
  • Experience working with crossfunctional technical and commercial teams.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience supporting large load or infrastructure projects (e.g., data centers, industrial, or utilityscale developments).
  • Exposure to transmission studies, interconnection processes, or substationrelated infrastructure.
  • Prior experience working directly with electric utilities or utilityfacing roles esp. related to acquiring large load interconnection agreements
  • Comfort preparing written summaries and presenting project updates to internal stakeholders.
