Job description

Concord Engineering Group is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer for our Voorhees office to work in our HealthCare, Science & Technology & Commercial MEP group.

This group provides full-service MEP/FP engineering, energy consulting, design-build, construction management and commissioning services for industrial facilities and high-performance buildings for the commercial, healthcare, laboratory and institutional markets. We are a team comprised of engineers educated and practiced in energy conservation and project implementation with a proven track record for excellence in all aspects of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, & fire protection engineering.

As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you will take an important role in taking the lead, in coordination with the Project Engineer in designing electrical systems for various clients in the various markets within their design team. In some cases, there will be a requirement to sign and seal the drawings on projects where you are the Engineer of Record on the project. Coordinate and work with the design team within your discipline and work with the client/PM/Project Engineer to execute project objectives in a timely and efficient manner.

While our Company headquarters are in Voorhees, NJ, this position can work out of our NYC and/or Linwood, NJ office. This position can also be hybrid or remote.

The responsibilities of this position include:

  • Manage and direct the production of specific project staff with the focus on the teamโ€™s efficiency and goals for working to the projectโ€™s scope, required level of detail and project budget on a project-by-project basis.
  • Perform design, layout, and checking of electrical systems drawings per client requirements and as directed by Chief Engineer/Director.
  • Perform engineering calculations, prepare single line diagrams, sizing of electrical components and equipment, conduct short circuit analysis where required and prepare technical specifications.

  • Ensure the technical correctness of the drawings by using the applicable job, federal, state and local standards and codes.

  • Review projects regularly to ensure departmental standards and requirements are consistent with client requirements and the project budget. Provide design reviews of engineering documents to execute the QA/QC requirements per CEG methods and standards.
  • Provide direction and perform periodic review of engineersโ€™ work under your direction throughout the project as well as Independent Design Review (IDR) of other engineersโ€™ work not directly under your supervision.
  • Provide overall engineering direction for your discipline for projects assigned to you.
  • Perform site surveys, attend pre-bid meetings and provide field construction support, as required.
  • Monitor and assist in the training and development of subordinate engineers as directed by Chief Engineer / Director using the agreed upon CEG methods and standards.
  • Develop and/or assist in proposal development, client management and overall project execution.

Desired skills and experience:

  • BS in Electrical Engineering
  • Minimum 12-15 years of progressive engineering and managerial experience with a strong record of accomplishment in managing and executing large multi-faceted engineering projects
  • Experience in executing a design project with Autodesk Autocad or Revit and implementing Building Information Modeling (BIM).
  • Professional Engineer (PE) licensure.
  • Must be knowledgeable of local, state and national code requirements.
  • Must have experience/working knowledge of lighting and electrical load analysis software.
  • Strong working knowledge and utilization of Autocad, Revit experience is a plus.
  • Knowledgeable of the USGBC LEED Rating system and standards is a plus.
  • Must be a good time manager, comfortable with frequent deadlines and transitions.
  • Effective at working with other staff members in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must have excellent communication skills to effectively communicate complex ideas and have strong technical writing skills and technical documentation skills with the ability to prepare presentations and reports.
  • Able to read, write, speak and understand English.
  • Able to be a problem solver and prioritize tasks as well as multi-task.
  • Able to manage and direct workflow of others.
  • Strong financial management skills and business acumen.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with others both in-house as well as with clients.
  • Must be willing to participate in continuing education by completing professional development classes and attending seminars at the discretion of their manager.

COMPENSATION

The salary range for this position is $115,000 to $175,000 with actual salary based on experience. This position will also offer a sign on bonus and a profit-sharing bonus.
