Job description

This 12-month, full-time (1.0 FTE) on-site faculty position will remain open until filled. This existing position reports to the Athletic Training Program Director, and will have responsibilities related to teaching, research, and service. The primary teaching role will be in our CAATE accredited Master of Science in Athletic Training Program, with a workload of approximately 17 credits in total throughout the academic year. The program is seeking an additional faculty member with athletic training clinical and teaching experience. The program approaches course delivery in a holistic manner, and the specific course assignments will be based on the candidate's strengths and the needs of the program.


The mission of the School of Physical Therapy & Rehabilitation Sciences (SPT&RS) is to "Move Lives Forward" through the education of students in an inclusive educational, research, and clinical environment that embraces community, innovation, discovery, knowledge, expertise, leadership, collaboration, and partnerships. SPT&RS is comprised of expert faculty and staff who support our education, research, and clinical missions. Our faculty includes licensed athletic trainers and physical therapists who are educators, researchers, clinicians, and leaders in their respective professions. We are also fortunate to have staff who support admissions, clinical education, finances, operations, student affairs, research, and much more. The Morsani College of Medicine includes the School of Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Sciences, Physician Assistant Program, and Medical Education and Graduate Education Programs.  The school includes the Athletic Training Program, Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) program, and Orthopedic Physical Therapy Residency Program.  The DPT professional program enrolls approximately 50 students per class each year and is ranked in the top 35 programs per the US News and World Report. The USF Athletic Training Program was the first AT program to be housed in a College of Medicine and currently has one of the largest and most diverse student populations in the country.  The school's research mission generates over $5M in funded extramural research.
