Orthopedic Clinical Specialist - USFTGP Plastic Surgery

The Orthopedic Clinical Specialist coordinates all aspects of the patient's clinical journey, including clinic appointments, surgical scheduling, and ongoing communication between patients and the care team. This role serves as the primary administrative contact for orthopedic patients, ensuring their needs are addressed efficiently and compassionately. The specialist optimizes and manages provider's surgical templates and schedules and coordinates all activities leading up to surgical procedures. This position supports high-quality patient care by facilitating efficient workflows, maintaining accurate scheduling, and ensuring a positive and safe patient experience throughout the continuum of care.

Qualifications Required: High School or GED Work Experience and Additional Information Minimum 2 years experience in a clinical setting. Technical Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge of orthopedic clinical workflows, including outpatient scheduling, pre-surgical coordination, and operating room block management. Strong organizational and time-management skills to manage high-volume schedules, surgical timelines, and multiple patient needs simultaneously. Excellent communication and customer service skills, with the ability to serve as the primary point of contact for patients, providers, and care teams. Proficiency with scheduling systems and EMR platforms, including maintaining templates, updating appointments, and documenting patient interactions. Ability to analyze and manage provider schedules, ensuring clinic and surgical blocks are optimized and used efficiently. Problem-solving skills and adaptability to respond to last-minute changes, cancellations, rescheduling needs, and urgent patient inquiries.
