Job Title:
Adjunct Professor - Engineering Department
Job Summary:
The University of San Francisco (USF) Engineering Department is looking for an instructor for Digital Electronics for the Fall 2026 semester.
Full Job Description:
The engineering program at USF is a student-focused, hands-on program immersed in a Jesuit liberal arts education. The digital electronics course provides engineering and science majors with an introduction to digital electronics. Topics covered include number systems and codes, digital electronic signals and switches, basic logic gates, programmable logic devices, Boolean algebra and reduction techniques, exclusive - OR and exclusive - NOR gates, arithmetic operations and circuits, code converters, multiplexers and demultiplexers, logic families and their characteristics, flip flops and registers, practical considerations for digital design, counter circuits and VHDL state machines, shift registers, multivibrators, and timer circuits. Emphasis is placed on practical knowledge, including prototyping, programing, simulating, and troubleshooting digital circuits.
The class is 6 units or credits, meeting three times per week for ~2 hours each. In addition, the instructor will hold office hours.   • A Master's degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • Experience teaching undergraduates.

  • Willingness to work in a culturally diverse environment, including LGBTQ+ and BIPOC students, local or international, amongst many other denominations and backgrounds.
