THE ROLE

The Website Content & Editorial Intern with the International Coaching Federation (ICF) supports the Marketing & Communications team through website content editing, proofreading, publishing support, and content quality assurance. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented student interested in editorial work, digital publishing, and web content management.


We're looking for a strong writer and careful editor who enjoys polishing content, maintaining consistency, and ensuring accuracy across digital platforms. The intern will gain hands-on experience working with website content, editorial processes, AP Style, content governance, and WordPress publishing within a global professional association environment. This position is best suited for students interested in journalism, editing, publishing, communications, or digital content operations.


ย Essential Functions & Responsibilities
  • Support the ongoing maintenance, accuracy, and consistency of content across ICF's website.ย 
  • Proofread and edit website copy, blog posts, landing pages, and other digital content for grammar, clarity, tone, formatting, and AP Style consistency.ย 
  • Assist with content quality assurance, including link validation, formatting checks, accessibility reviews, and content updates.ย 
  • Support blog publishing workflows in WordPress, including formatting, tagging, optimization, and final pre-publication review.ย 
  • Help maintain editorial calendars, content templates, workflows, and documentation to support collaboration across teams.ย 
  • Review existing website content and identify opportunities to improve readability, consistency, and user experience.ย 
  • Assist with light content updates and revisions based on established brand and editorial guidelines.ย 
  • Support administrative and coordination tasks related to website and content projects.ย 
  • Participate in team meetings and collaborate with staff across the organization to support content and communications initiatives.ย 

Requirements

  • Enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program in journalism, communications, English, marketing, digital media, or a related field.ย 
  • Excellent writing, proofreading, and editing skills with exceptional attention to detail.ย 
  • Familiarity with AP Style and interest in applying editorial standards consistently across content.ย 
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple assignments and deadlines.ย 
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a team.ย 
  • Comfortable reviewing content carefully for accuracy, consistency, grammar, and formatting.ย 
  • Ability to follow established editorial, brand, and style guidelines.ย 
  • Interest in digital publishing, website content management, and content operations.ย 
  • Familiarity with WordPress or other content management systems preferred.ย 
  • Basic understanding of SEO, UX, accessibility, and website content best practices preferred.ย 
  • Basic image editing skills (e.g., resizing or cropping images for web use) are a plus.
