User Experience Designer Job Summary:

Sparks Group is working with a globally recognized design and innovation firm to identify a talented User Experience Designer. This position requires onsite work in McLean, VA. We are seeking a design-driven thinker and collaborative leader who thrives on solving complex challenges and delivering intuitive, elegant, and engaging user experiences.

In this role, you will evaluate user behaviors, needs, and workflows to design seamless and effective experiences. You’ll apply advanced principles of user interface and interaction design while leading efforts around persona development, journey mapping, task analysis, and information architecture. Additionally, you will oversee user research and usability testing initiatives—ensuring insights are translated into impactful ideas and practical design solutions.

User Experience Designer Responsibilities:

  • Partner with cross-functional teams to shape a forward-looking, experience-driven vision and define the capabilities needed to support it.
  • Evaluate potential impact and help build supporting business cases.
  • Perform analysis to uncover opportunities through stakeholder engagement and mapping of customer touchpoints.
  • Drive customer-focused strategy initiatives and contribute to presentations and proposals.
  • Maintain alignment between design efforts and overarching business objectives throughout service design and roadmap development.
  • Translate user insights into clear, compelling service concepts and strategic recommendations.
  • Support go-to-market planning to ensure experiences deliver maximum business and user value.

User Experience Designer Qualifications:

  • Active TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance is required.
  • 5–8+ years of experience delivering user interface and experience design solutions across diverse stakeholders or clients.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Strong proficiency in design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, with a focus on Figma and similar platforms.
  • Extensive experience conducting user research and facilitating usability testing.
  • Proven ability to work within Agile environments and iterative product development cycles.
  • Experience managing or guiding small to mid-sized design teams (approximately 3–7+ members).
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to lead discussions for groups ranging from small teams to larger audiences.
