Job description

Overview

The Design Sr. Manager is a compelling designer, facilitator, and storyteller who is able to work through various mediums (digital prototyping tools, presentation design, immersive experience activations, and video) in order to create high-impact deliverables and lead engagement sessions that help business program owners to define the end user experience for the S&T core priorities. This Design Sr. Manager will develop a well-researched understanding of S&T core priorities and leverage that knowledge to develop engaging, user friendly and easy to use experiences across S&T core priority applications. The Design Sr. Manager will conceptualize, co-create, design, and present engaging experiences, effectively collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams (product, business, strategy, data & analytics) to deliver value. A passion for using design to solve problems and seasoned presentation skills are a must.

Responsibilities
  • Helps the Product Owner in the definition of the high-level concepts & customer value proposition.
  • Inspire innovative approaches to design. Leading client-facing meetings and workshops, explaining rationale for design decisions.
  • Creates, defines and demonstrates the interactions for the user flows for a service or product tasks
  • Designs the frameworks to organize information & help users understand how product or service will work & behave over time
  • Collaborates with other Design disciplines to integrate & address user needs and balance them against business, brand and technical goals & needs
  • Visualizes solutions, usually in the form of models, wireframes, documentation, or prototypes Addresses the service design or solution objectives, as well as consider the fine details of user interaction elements, components, labels & flows that people use to achieve their goals
  • Partners closely with front-end developers
  • Conceptualizes and provides support for the design conceptualization of a Customer Centered Product, infusing user values and defining the user experience considering the entire ecosystem.
  • Provides guidance on the product design to make it useful, usable, effective, desirable, and differentiated for both the people and businesses they serve.
  • Balances creative and business goals, manages client expectations and ensures delivery meets expectations.
  • Maintains and evolves Digital Principles and style guides for creating interactive, user-centric products and ensure all channels live up to these visual standards.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • The expected compensation range for this position is between $140,100 - $234,850.
  • Location, confirmed job-related skills, experience, and education will be considered in setting actual starting salary. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range during the hiring process.
  • Bonus based on performance and eligibility target payout is 15% of annual salary paid out annually.
  • Paid time off subject to eligibility, including paid parental leave, vacation, sick, and bereavement.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • BA/BS in related design field required, MS/MFA preferred
  • 10+ yrs experience in specialization such as user experience, design strategy, marketing activation design, interaction design, or visual and content design with willingness to broaden your own skillset into adjacent specializations while refining mastery of primary skillset.
  • Ability to tackle a diverse and complex set of design challenges, lead complex projects and recognize patterns to help develop creative, strategic, and scalable solutions for our client experience and engagement model.
  • Expert in digital design software and tools including Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch, InVision, AfterEffects etc
  • Proficient in front end web development HTML/JS/CSS and rapid prototyping techniques
  • Expert in creating experience maps, user journeys and service blueprints, interaction models, flows, high fidelity wireframes, and UI / visual design
  • Master facilitator with proven track record running client engagements, demonstrating excellence in presentation polish, executive presence, and client orientation
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills (public speaking, storytelling, presentation building skills)
  • Experience working with design systems, components, and extensible assets
  • Familiarity and experience with AI tools for design
  • Proven history of delivering results on time, within budget, and with high level of execution
  • A creative optimist and self-starter who brings energy and enthusiasm to the work
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects
  • Desire to teach/coach junior designers in the team
  • CPG industry experience preferred, but not required
