Job description

This position is in the Wage and Hour Division (WHD), Office of Regional Enforcement and Support (ORES), San Francisco District Office. The position assists the Director of Operations in the executive direction, guidance, and operational matters in developing, planning, and carrying out all Wage and Hour programs within the assigned Region.

Qualifications:

A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. All experience listed on your resume must include the month and year start/end dates. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. Applicants wishing to receive credit for such experience must clearly indicate the nature of their duties and responsibilities in each position and the number of hours a week spent in such position.

Specialized Experience is the experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSA's) to perform the duties of the position successfully, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled.
Applicants must have one year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-12 grade, in the Federal service which includes:

  • Experience working on projects that impact agency personnel management, employee/labor relations, administrative matters, regulatory fiscal decisions, and/or policy development.
  • Experience in planning, scheduling and conducting projects and studies to evaluate and recommend ways to improve work operations in a program or support setting.
  • Experience reviewing and evaluating the overall impact of programs in the areas of budget, personnel and/or IT and preparing papers and organizing briefings to managers, which encourage understanding and acceptance of findings and recommendations.


Applicants must meet the eligibility requirements of time-in-grade (52 weeks at the GS-12 grade level or equivalent in the Federal Service), time-after-competitive-appointment (90 days, if applicable), and minimum qualifications. These requirements must be met within 30 days of the announcement closing date, 09/05/2026, to be eligible for consideration.
