The Impact You'll Make in this Role

As the Category & Marketplace Development Leader, you will lead the new channels and 3P/marketplace development of our consumer portfolio to ultimately grow businesses across key platforms and channels (3P, Marketplace, key verticals, new outlets).This role has responsibility for brand curation-cross portfolio assortment, selection expansion, PPA for channel -while partnering cross-functionally to improve conversion, profitability, and retail readiness. You will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

  • Lead CBG portfolios' channel expansion with multiple cross-functional teams through a deep knowledge of product, competition, and key market trends for the marketplace.
  • Set 3P/marketplace portfolio strategy with channel specific execution plans to drive growth with targeted portfolios, programs, and campaigns.
  • Build business cases for portfolio changes (selection adds, pack/price architecture, bundle strategy, channel exclusives, LTOs) with financial impact.
  • Collaborate with Brand and Product teams to ensure channel & marketplace-specific themes, positioning, claims support, and launch readiness.
  • Actively monitor trends and innovations relating to the channels and integrate those into plans to maintainrelevance and stay competitive.
  • Work cross-functionally to drive portfolio insights and gaps (segment, portfolio, new product) to APL& brand teams.
  • Influence promotional strategies that align to margin targets, marketplace dynamics, and brand guardrails.
  • Diagnose performance using marketplace analytics (traffic, conversion, search, share, profitability, retail readiness) and translate insights into actions.

Your Skills and Expertise

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited institution
  • Seven (7) years of marketing and/or sales experience
  • Three (3) years of experience in eCommerce, digital commerce, or marketplace management with demonstrated 3P marketplace exposure.
  • Two (2) years of Consumer Package Goods Retail experience

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

  • USAC key account sales and/or analytical experience
  • Good understanding of CBG USAC markets, products, competition and customers
  • Portfolio marketing: end to end execution and experience
  • Creativity & problem solving in complex situations.
  • Skilled in retail negotiations
  • Analytical aptitude with strong ability to turn data insights into action, with effective storytelling
  • Familiar with PowerBi tools and syndicated data reporting
  • Strong interpersonal skills for collaborating and driving strategy with cross-functional stakeholders, as well as top customers and channels in USAC.
  • Understanding of price management and financial acumen (Net Sales, MDF/Rebate, CIP, GM)
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

Work location:

  • On-site: This role follows an on-site working model, requiring the employee to work at least four days a week at the 3M Center in Maplewood, MN.
  • Travel: May include up to 25% domestic/international
  • Relocation: May be authorized
