The Dispatcher plays a pivotal role in coordinating the efficient movement of goods and services by managing schedules, routes, and communications between drivers, customers, and internal teams. The Dispatcher ensures timely deliveries, resolves logistical issues, and maintains accurate records of transportation activities.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Route Planning and Coordination:
  • Plan and coordinate delivery routes for drivers based on factors such as distance, traffic, and customer requests.
  • Optimize routes to maximize efficiency and minimize delivery times, fuel consumption, and vehicle wear and tear.

Dispatching and Communication:
  • Dispatch drivers to assigned routes and provide them with detailed instructions, schedules, and relevant information.
  • Maintain constant communication with drivers via phone, radio, or messaging systems to provide updates, directions, and assistance as needed.

Customer Service:
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for customers, addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and providing updates on delivery status.
  • Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction by delivering excellent service and promptly resolving any concerns or complaints.

Logistics Coordination:
  • Coordinate with warehouse staff, logistics personnel, and other internal teams to ensure smooth operations and timely fulfillment of orders.
  • Monitor inventory levels, shipment schedules, and delivery timelines to proactively address any potential delays or issues.

Documentation and Record Keeping:
  • Maintain accurate records of dispatch activities, including driver assignments, delivery schedules, and customer interactions.

Problem Solving:
  • Quickly identify and resolve logistical issues, such as route deviations, vehicle breakdowns, or delivery delays, to minimize disruptions and maintain service levels.

Safety Compliance:
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies regarding driver behavior, vehicle maintenance, and transportation operations.

COMPETENCIES:
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize activities, and maintain attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively convey information and instructions to drivers, customers, and team members.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
  • High School Diploma or GED, or equivalent military or practical experience.
  • Previous experience in dispatching, logistics coordination, or transportation operations preferred.
  • Proficiency in computer software systems for routing, dispatching, and communication (e.g., GPS navigation, dispatching software, Microsoft Office).
  • Familiarity with transportation regulations, safety standards, and industry best practices.
  • Strong customer service orientation and interpersonal skills.
  • Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
  • Ability to successfully pass a background check post offer acceptance.

The range provided represents the national average pay range for this position and is considered to be a general guideline. Pay for this position will reflect the candidate's unique qualifications and may be higher or lower than the range provided based on employee geographic location. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other local, state, and federal law.
In addition to base salary, this role will be eligible for participation in TriMark's' benefits programs, including medical, dental, vision, 401K (with employer match), etc. Leadership positions may also qualify for participation in bonus programs commensurate with role and scope of responsibility.
