Job Summary:
The Commercial Loan Officer is responsible for developing and managing a portfolio of C amp;I and CRE clients with full banking relationships inclusive of equipment loans, lines of credit, real estate-secured loans, deposits, and cash management services. Must have the ability to analyze credit requests, structure credit proposals, advise clients on capital structure and cash management solutions, oversee loan package preparation, present credit requests for approval, review, modify and approve loan documents, oversee loan closings, analyze and maximize relationship profitability, and originate loan opportunities that fit within the Bank’s established loan policies and guidelines. The role will require the ability to regularly present and communicate potential loan opportunities to an executive committee. Performs additional duties as assigned.
Primary Responsibilities / Job Duties:
  • Cultivates relationships with key business contacts to identify a need for bank products and services, and develop new opportunities for growth.
  • Participates in community events and works with centers of influence to promote the First US Bank brand and cultivate additional relationship opportunities.
  • Plans, executes and documents targeted business development calls; maintains updated prospect data base, customer relationship management reports, and pipeline reports.
  • Engages with customers on a regular basis to enhance the trusted advisor relationship; ensures business needs are being met; provides a high level of customer service; creates cross sell opportunities for other product lines.
  • Facilitates credit requests; demonstrates credit acumen and pricing discipline; provides leadership to and coordination of internal teams responsible for administering the credit process.
  • Meets established performance goals for new loan production, net portfolio growth, deposit and cash management revenue production, and other defined metrics.
  • Exhibits professionalism and discretion as a representative of First US Bank; demonstrates a commitment to excellence; consistently provides superior service to all internal and external customers; promptly responds to all communications.
  • Participates in and completes all required compliance training, including BSA/AML, as well as other internal and external training programs.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.
Position Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree with a concentration in Finance, Accounting, or Economics
  • At least 5 years of experience in commercial lending or a similar role
  • Strong background in commercial risk analysis, underwriting, loan structure, and regulatory requirements
  • Motivated and organized self-starter with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and other business computer systems.
  • Professional demeanor with superior sales acumen and interpersonal skills
Working Environment / Physical Demands:
Work is performed in a professional office environment and requires the ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboards. Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. May require the ability to lift files, bend, reach, walk or maneuver around the bank. Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
