Job description

About Saint Mary Help of Christians Catholic School:
Saint Mary Help of Christians Catholic School was founded in 1904 by Ursuline nuns as Saint Angela Academy, a boarding school for wealthy young ladies. The Sisters of Charity of Our Lady of Mercy assumed operations in 1906, expanding enrollment to include day students. In 1939, Bernard Baruch helped finance a red-brick building addition that remains part of the school today.
In 1950, a local Catholic population boom driven by the Savannah River Plant prompted Bishop Emmet Michael Walsh to establish a parochial grammar school. The facility was renamed Saint Mary Help of Christians Catholic School under parish jurisdiction, while Saint Angela Academy transitioned exclusively into a high school.
The Dominican Sisters from Adrian, Michigan, staffed and administered the school from 1955 until 1970, when the Sisters of Charity returned to manage it. Following the school's closure in June 1997, administrative duties shifted to a Catholic lay principal.
Our Mission:
The mission of Saint Mary Help of Christians Catholic School, in partnership with parents, is to form Christian leaders who are faithful, prepared, and courageous.
Our Vision:
Saint Mary Help of Christians Catholic School prepares the way for students to grow in their faith and be challenged intellectually. While recognizing parents as their child's primary educator, the faculty is committed so students can meet the demands of an ever-changing world. We strive to develop the student's self-discipline skills and recognize the unique talents God has given each child. We model and teach Catholic doctrine and values by providing students opportunities for prayer, worship, and service to others in our Church and society in the caring spirit of the Beatitudes.
