The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job's compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.

Responsibilities:

The EHR Application Analyst I role provides a unique opportunity to blend clinical and operational knowledge with technology. The analyst is a member of a collaborative team that optimizes and supports the electronic health record; continuous learning and teamwork are part of the daily experience. Analysts are responsible for translating clinical and operational needs in order to make recommendations for improving operational workflows, staff efficiency, and patient care through electronic record modifications for URMC and affiliates.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Performs simple analysis and facilitates development of integrated workflows. Completes the functional design and build of the EHR application with guidance from preceptor or manager.
  • Collaborates with others to seek resolution of system issues and communicates risk implications to team lead/project manager.
  • Reviews requested enhancements. Prioritizes and assists with implementing requested changes to the system with guidance from preceptor or manager.
  • Works with the project team, subject matter experts, training and technical team to define processes that cross applications and functional areas.
  • Participates in the upgrade process, including NOVA review (eRecord only). Acts as representative for the team as needed, attends upgrade meetings. Builds reports and workflows and tests work of self and others as needed.
  • Maintains standards for system build, including following naming and numbering conventions, security classifications, database/spreadsheets for system build and change control. Adheres to organizational policies and procedures.
  • Builds relationships and effectively communicates with the project team, key stakeholders and physician practices as required.
  • Performs tasks that maintain the foundational components and/or performance of the EHR application with limited guidance.
  • Other duties as assigned


MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Associates Degree in related discipline, such as Computer Science, Business, Mathematics, Statistics, Science or Engineering required
  • 1 year of relevant experience required
  • or equivalent combination of education and experience required
  • Clinical, technical or administrative experience in a health care setting preferred
  • Clinical experience specific to the Cath Lab or Cardiology is also preferred.


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Strong attention to detail required
  • Ability to develop creative solutions to complex problems and develop critical thinking skills required
  • Strong communication (verbal and written), teamwork and follow-up skills required
  • Skilled in using Microsoft software, specifically Office and SharePoint required
  • Familiarity with Meaningful Use (ARRA) as well as HIPAA,JCAHO and other regulations that impact clinical practice preferred

  • Epic certification in related application(s) may be required within 12 months upon hire (applies only to eRecord positions)
