Job Description:
An electrophysiology technologist performs diagnostic electrophysiology procedures and interventions, such as electrocardiograms, in a clinical setting. Responsibilities include preparing the patient for the procedure, ensuring all equipment is in working order, monitoring the read-out during the procedure, and assisting with lab analysis and data interpretation. The technologist also assists physicians with pacing implementation and installs other permanent devices related to cardiac health.
Responsibilities:
  • Communicate with MD and in-room staff to ensure all equipment and supplies are available.
  • Facilitate room turnover and on-time starts for timely patient care.
  • Coordinate with Charge Nurse and third-party vendors for scheduled procedures.
  • Assist at the sterile field prepping the patient and equipment for study and ablations.
  • Maintain fluids for the ablation catheter and provide assistance with the ablator.
  • Assist Anesthesia and document during studies and ablations, and provide backup pacing during implants.
Requirements:
  • License (NY ONLY)
  • 2 Years' experience
  • BLS (American Heart Association ONLY)
