Mission Statement

I am expected to contribute to our mission statement: to be the best people to do business with in the flooring industry.
Position Description:
The Urethane Operator position requires good communication skills and the ability to follow standard operating procedures, attention to detail coupled with being a strong team player.
This position is not for candidates who have less than the required years of experience, have not worked in the position or a closely related position before, or who do not meet the minimum job requirements.
Primary Job Responsibilities:
  • Monitor material as it enters and exits the urethane line - verify proper product construction, shade, emboss quality, gloss and speed
  • Record run condition data and quality data per specifications
  • Communicate defects to supervisor, lead or quality control department
  • Assist with root cause analysis in eliminating / reducing scrap
  • Perform testing procedures ensuring products meet specified quality standards, frequency as defined in standard work instruction
  • Follow proper procedures for startup and shutdown of urethane line
  • Assist in breaking out the Palletizer where applicable
  • Assist in creating production batches in SAP
  • Use pallet jack or forklift to load and unload pallets from palletizing work cell
  • Must be familiar with operating procedures and safety protocol for robotic cells
  • Assist with startup and shutdown of Rotocure line
  • Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements and Skills:
  • Must be able to lift 60 lbs.
  • Ability to perform duties which requires tolerance of standing, repetitive hand movements, continual bending and squatting, near/far/depth/color vision, and inside ambient temperatures

  • Must be able to work around and handle chemical environment correctly

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to stand, push, pull & reach for long periods of time. Must be able to lift & carry up to 60 lbs. Ability to maneuver around an array of machinery. Use of hands to finger, handle or feel. Color & peripheral vision; depth perception & ability to adjust focus. Work environment conditions include: exposure to moving mechanical parts; fumes, airborne particles and chemicals; extreme heat & loud noise level in some areas of the facility. Ability to quickly respond to a signal when it appears. Must be able to wear safety shoes, safety glasses & other assigned PPE for the duration of the shift. Ability to work in an efficient & timely manner, multitasking where necessary. Ability to work with minimal supervision.

Other Relevant Requirements:
  • Must be in good company standing based on attendance, job performance, safety, quality of work, job knowledge, interpersonal and communication skills, initiative, dependability, and versatility to qualify.
  • Experience troubleshooting equipment issues.
  • Mathematical skills to include the ability to understand percentages, multiplication, subtraction, division, decimals, and fractions.
