Job description

Western Regional Trainer

Our client is a well-established, U.S.-based manufacturer of water heating and energy-efficient heating solutions. They sell exclusively through trade professionals and have built a strong reputation in the plumbing and HVAC channel over many years of consistent product investment. They're expanding their training capabilities in the Western US and need a Regional Trainer to cover the region. This person will be the technical voice of the brand in the region, working directly with contractors, distributors, and manufacturer representatives to drive product adoption and installation confidence.

Projects You'll Work On

Technical Training Across the Southeast

  • Deliver hands-on training to contractors, wholesale distributors, and manufacturer representatives on heat pump water heating systems throughout UT, CO, WA, OR.
  • Support factory startups, field installations, commissioning, and equipment testing as the regional technical lead.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues during live installations, serving as the go-to resource when problems need fast answers.

Product Collaboration

  • Partner with product engineering to develop a deep understanding of heat pump water heater features, functions, and critical specs, then translate that into practical field-ready training content.
  • Collect usability feedback from the field and pass actionable insights back to product engineering to support future development.

What Experience You Should Bring

  • 5+ years of hands-on HVAC and/or refrigeration experience (required)
  • Background in engineering, technical product support, or product management
  • Experience working with indirect sales channels: wholesalers, buy/sell distributors, OEM partners
  • Comfort with frequent overnight travel across a four-state territory
  • Strong communicator in both technical and non-technical settings
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office

Why This Opportunity Stands Out

  • Join a manufacturer with a long track record in the U.S. market and a product line gaining momentum in the shift toward energy-efficient heating solutions
  • Own a high-visibility territory with room to build strong, lasting relationships across the contractor and distributor channel
  • Work at the intersection of the field and product engineering, with direct input into how training content and product feedback loops are built
  • Competitive compensation plus multiple medical plan options including an HSA-eligible high-deductible plan with employer contributions and two retirement plan options
