The pharmacy resident will be responsible for providing evidence-based, collaborative, patient-centered care under the supervision of a preceptor. The pharmacy resident will be a self-directed, independent, motivated learner as guided by the Residency Program Director and preceptors. The pharmacy resident will conduct several projects to improve the quality of patient care, advance the profession of pharmacy, and evaluate the sustainability of pharmacy services. The pharmacy resident will also provide medication-related education and training to healthcare professionals
This position is located at Medicine Mart in West Columbia, SC.
One Pharmacy resident position is available for one year beginning from July 1st, 2024 - June 30th, 2025
Job Related Minimum Required Education and Experience

PharmD degree from ACPE-accredited college or school of pharmacy; eligible for licensure as a Pharmacist in the State of South Carolina; current CPR certification is required; must meet the qualifications to administer vaccinations according to the SC Board of Pharmacy.

To promote, manage, schedule, and conduct clinical services in the pharmacy and/or site clinic. This will involve interactions with patients and other healthcare providers.
The pharmacy resident will also provide medication-related education and training to healthcare professionals.

To develop a research initiative at the community pharmacy practice site. The pharmacy resident will conduct several projects to improve the quality of patient care, advance the profession of pharmacy, and evaluate the sustainability of pharmacy services.

Responsible for dispensing prescriptions, counseling patients on prescription and over-the-counter products, and managing pharmacy technicians and interns.

Individual will be involved with teaching opportunities and responsibilities at the practice sites as well as the College of Pharmacy. The practice site teaching opportunities will involve assisting the site preceptor with experiential education training for College of Pharmacy students. This individual will also be involved with classroom teaching opportunities at the College of Pharmacy.
