General Statement of Job
Under general supervision, performs jailer activities in maintaining jail security and related operations in accordance with established policies, regulations, and procedures. Acquires and maintains Class II State certification. Acquires and maintains SCBA certification. Works under stressful, high-risk conditions. Reports to the Shift Supervising Officer.
Minimum Training and Experience
Education: High school diploma or GEDExperience: Certifications:
  • Minimum age 18
  • Good physical condition
  • Possession of all members of both upper and lower extremities
  • Vision correctable to 20/20
  • Good character and reputation
  • Valid drivers license
Preferred:
  • One (1) to two (2) years of experience

Physical Requirements
Must be physically able to operate video equipment, an alarm panel and a variety of automated office machines which includes a computer, calculator, fax, etc. Must be able to exert up to twenty pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to ten pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
