The University of South Carolina is hiring multiple part-time Assistant Trades Technicians to join our Facilities Services team. These entry-level positions offer a hands-on learning experience for individuals interested in developing skills in the trades, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and carpentry.
Work hours are flexible within the window of Monday through Friday 7:30 AM to 3:00 PM, and do not require coverage of the full shift. Responsibilities typically include:
Assisting with installation, maintenance, and repair of equipment or systems.
Operating tools and machinery under supervision.
Preparing work areas and cleaning up after tasks.
Transporting materials and supplies.
Performing basic inspections and reporting issues.
This is an excellent opportunity to build foundational trade skills in a supportive and educational university environment.
