Department Summary

The Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences of the University of North Texas System College of Pharmacy (UNT-SCP) will contribute to the development of the educational, research, and service programs of the Department. The faculty will report to the Chair of the Department. The faculty of the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences will provide expertise toward the basic sciences side of the pharmaceutical sciences such as pharmaceutical discovery, formulation, and delivery. The Pharmaceutical Sciences Department at the UNT System College of Pharmacy is located at the University of North Texas Health Science Center (UNTHSC) in Fort Worth. Ranked among the top 50 medical schools for seven consecutive years, UNT Health is a 33-acre graduate school located in the city's Cultural District with a local economic impact of $500 million annually. The UNT System College of Pharmacy is the first pharmacy school in Texas located on an academic health science center campus. Researchers benefit from strong interdisciplinary partnerships with other departments at UNT Health and with the robust pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and clinical trial industries present in the DFW area. Position Overview

Assist in laboratory research settings. Assist with duties related to general research activities and/or specific research projects.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university; or any equivalent combination of education and experience. Employees in this job may be responsible for conducting research on, working on, or having the ability to access critical organizational infrastructure and they must be able to maintain the security and integrity of the infrastructure related to this role.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledge and skills in using a range of software programs including but not limited to Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), SPSS, STATA.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize tasks.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Ability to perform administrative/clerical tasks.
  • Aptitude in general laboratory procedures, techniques, and documentation.
  • Ability to acquire competence in new techniques.

Job Duties

  • Assist in the conduct of research, including the collection of information and/or samples.
  • Analyze experimental data and interpret results to write reports and making a experimental protocol.
  • Participate in other projects as assigned.
  • Participate in writing the manuscript in peer-reviewed research journal Set up, clean, and maintain, laboratory and field equipment.

  • Operating machinery and/or power tools.
