Job description

JOB SUMMARY:

The Sr. Manager, UXUI role will be a core member of the Global UXUI Experience Design team at Universal Parks and Resorts and lead brand solutions centered on UXUI and system design from inception to execution, framing product needs from a holistic and global perspective.

This candidate will work with a cross functional team focused on identifying opportunities to enhance customer engagement by executing an elegant and seamless experience as well as maintain high quality experience design frameworks for our products (websites, apps, interactive touch screens) to ensure we present a coherent brand image.

This person is a key member in creating opportunities for audience engagement, revenue growth through design executions, measuring demand and loyalty marketing across the customer buying process.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Lead the holistic view of the product’s design across integration (customer and technical) points to provide a superior, seamless experience from daily improvements to longer-term strategies.
  • Lead brand solutions centered on UXUI and system design from inception to execution, framing product needs from a holistic and global perspective.
  • Communicate with business and design leaders and act as point of contact for specific commerce related design initiatives.
  • Synthesize product design and consumer trends, propose hypothesis, test via A/B testing tools, document and recommend clear, specific solutions to meet consumer needs.
  • Understand and actively participate in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Demonstrated success creating end-to-end digital product designs in the consumer technology sector.
  • Should have exceptional brand, visual, and interaction design skills and a depth of experience working across the user-centered design process: from conducting and leveraging research (quantitative and qualitative) to prototyping and implementation to testing and evaluation.
  • Strong UI design background and foundational skills: Typography, layout, composition, color theory, iconography, UXUI, motion/interaction design and branding.
  • Experience creating and documenting UI toolkits, style guides, and front-end frameworks for design and development teams.
  • Experience leading cross-functional reward, loyalty, and customer community projects intended to drive engagement and business value.
  • Requires strong domain knowledge in marketing, loyalty, rewards, messaging, and engagement.
  • Experience in building cross-channel experiences in growth marketing.
  • Experience utilizing user-centric design methodology: Gathering/shaping requirements, defining user stories, storyboarding features and iterating based on user feedback/testing.
  • Knowledge of current challenges in the marketing environment such as attribution of marketing touch points, understanding customer lifetime value, and the use of data science led personalization.
  • A desire to tackle and solve problems, from big picture strategy to granular details.
  • Independent, self-motivated, thoughtful, strategic and a clear communicator.
  • Passionately advocate for the user.
  • Experience leading projects with cross functional teams.
  • Comfortable with agile transformation.
  • Some experience in workshop and training facilitation preferred.
  • A positive attitude, open mind, and desire to collaborate and learn.
  • Highly proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch, InVision, and Abstract.
SCOPE:
  • The Sr. Manager, UXUI role will be a core member of the Global UXUI Experience Design team at Universal Parks and Resorts. We are responsible for Global UXUI; design concept, development and delivery of digital product across web, app and other digital applications for all Universal vacation destinations worldwide.
EDUCATION:
  • High school degree is required; Bachelor’s degree or higher is required – Graphic Design, Human Centered Interaction and/or Interaction Design
EXPERIENCE:
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of relevant experience in ecommerce sites, rewards/engagement and loyalty programs working with data-driven product development teams.
  • Must present a portfolio of work that illustrates strong UXUI, visual design and interaction design excellence, brand creation; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
