Location: Onsite, Bellevue, WA
Schedule: Mondayโ€“Friday, 8:00 AM โ€“ 5:00 PM (PST) or 8:30 AM โ€“ 5:30 PM (PST)

About the Role: Universal Language Service, Inc. is seeking a dedicated and professional Bilingual Customer Service amp; Language Specialist (Somali) join our team. This dual-role position combines real-time over-the-phone and video remote interpretation (OPI/VRI) services with administrative responsibilities. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, communicative, and able to manage multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining accuracy and professionalism. A full benefits package is available, including medical insurance.
Key Responsibilities:
Interpretation amp; Customer Support โ€ข Deliver real-time OPI/VRI interpretation services in Somali and English โ€ข Assist interpreters with completing and updating profiles and documentation โ€ข Follow up with interpreters to ensure records are current and compliant โ€ข Maintain clear and professional communication with interpreters and internal teams โ€ข Handle sensitive information with confidentiality and accuracy โ€ข Coordinate interpreter assignments, efficiently manage schedules, and ensure accurate and timely fulfillment of client requests โ€ข Maintain interpreter account records, updating information related to assignments, availability, and billing accurately โ€ข Proactively troubleshoot scheduling issues, providing timely and effective solutions
Requirements: โ€ข Strong bilingual proficiency in English and Somali โ€ข Excellent communication, organization, and customer service skills โ€ข Strong attention to detail and ability to manage administrative documentation โ€ข Ability to work full-time, on-site (Mondayโ€“Friday, 8:00 AMโ€“5:00 PM PST or 8:30 AMโ€“5:30 PM PST) โ€ข Prior interpretation experience preferred โ€ข Medical DSHS or national interpreter certification/qualification (e.g. NBCMI, CCHI, Other) is a plus (support provided for those seeking DSHS Medical recognition)
Education amp; Professional Background: โ€ข Bachelorโ€™s degree in Linguistics, Human Resources, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience) โ€ข Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in customer service, scheduling, recruiting, onboarding, interpretation, or translation
Work Environment amp; Screening Requirements: โ€ข This is a full-time, on-site position based at our Bellevue, WA corporate office โ€ข Remote work is not permitted โ€ข Candidates must pass a full-panel drug and alcohol screening and a national criminal background check
Compensation: โ€ข Up to $25 per hour, depending on qualifications and relevant experience โ€ข Full benefits package available, including medical insurance
