Position Summary
Reporting to the VP of Sales Operations Manager, the Business Development Representative (BDR) plays a critical role in generating new business opportunities for Universal Language Service. This position focuses on researching target industries, performing outbound outreach, qualifying leads, and passing opportunities to Sales Representatives for further engagement.
The BDR will help fuel the growth of our business by identifying organization that can benefit from our interpreting and translation services and ensuring they enter our sales funnel effectively.
Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct outbound prospecting via phone, email, social outreach, and other channels to generate new leads.
  • Research organizations withing the language services industry ecosystem, including healthcare systems, clinics, government agencies, educational institutions, law firms, and corporate clients.
  • Qualify inbound and outbound leads based on defined criteria and route qualified opportunities to Sales Representatives.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of all outreach activities, communications, and opportunities in the company CRM system.
  • Set introductory meetings or discovery calls between prospects and the appropriate sales team member.
  • Collaborate closely with the VP of Sales/Sales Operations Manager to align outreach efforts with company goals, campaigns, and target markets.
  • Stay informed about Universal Language Serviceโ€™s offerings, pricing models, and value propositions to effectively communicate benefits to prospects.
  • Track daily, weekly, and monthly activity metrics to ensure goals are being met.
  • Support marketing and sales initiatives, such as event outreach, email campaigns, and industry research projects.
  • Perform additional duties assigned to support the overall sales process.
Required Qualifications
  • 0-2 years of experience in sales, business development, lead generation, or a related field.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Comfort working in virtual and phone-driven communication environments.
  • Familiarity with CRM software (Salesforce, or similar).
  • Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to learn quickly and apply new concepts in a fast-moving environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in or familiarity with the language services industry, healthcare services, government contracting, or professional service environments.
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in business, sales, marketing, communications, or a related field.
