Job description

Afternoon Security Officer - 77056

United Protective Services is seeking a reliable, professional Security Officer for a nine-story commercial office building.

This is an interior security position focused on maintaining a safe and secure environment for the property, its tenants, employees, and visitors. The Security Officer will conduct regular patrols throughout the building, monitor access points, identify safety or security concerns, and document activity in accordance with company and client procedures.

Full-Time | 40 Hours Per Week | Weekends Off

Job Duties
  • Conduct regular interior patrols of all nine floors of the property.
  • Monitor entrances, exits, common areas, and other designated areas of the building.
  • Perform access control duties and assist in preventing unauthorized entry.
  • Identify and report suspicious persons, trespassing, unusual activity, and potential security concerns.
  • Check the property for water leaks, maintenance concerns, safety hazards, unsecured doors, and other unusual conditions.
  • Address unauthorized or disruptive individuals in accordance with company policy and site procedures.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed activity reports throughout the assigned shift.
  • Promptly report incidents, emergencies, safety concerns, and unusual activity to the appropriate personnel.
  • Follow all United Protective Services policies, procedures, and site-specific Post Orders.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor at all times while on duty.
Qualifications
  • Must be dependable and able to consistently work the assigned schedule.
  • Must be capable of conducting regular walking patrols throughout a nine-story office building.
  • Must be comfortable working alone.
  • Must possess strong observation and communication skills.
  • Must be comfortable working independently and taking appropriate action when security or safety concerns are identified.
  • Must be able to communicate professionally with clients, maintenance, and management.
  • Must be able to complete clear, accurate, and timely written reports.
